The Master Director Is Back!!,
By Kevin L. Betton Jr. "Total Praise Choir Master" (Carlisle, PA - Yeah I never heard of it either!) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: 7th Episode- Live In Toronto (Audio CD)
Album is OFF THE CHAIN!!! STRAIGHT CHOIR MUSIC. "Bless His Holy Name" is my favorite song...next song for my choir easily! Now who is this lady on "One More Chance," SHE IS "KILLING IT"!!! Not since "Jesus Can Work It Out" and "Let Us All Go Back," has a song leader so straight "LACED A SONG." I PROMISE YOU, that is one of the top 3 leads ever sung on an up-tempo song. Her name is Lillian Lloyd - much props Woman of God. I PRAY they have a DVD, I know somebody tried to throw a shoe or something at her!! If you don't believe me - check YouTube, I know its on there! OK OK "Our Father You Are Holy" is so sweet. That's my Top 3 on an album that was worth the wait. Now if I could've just found James Hall's!!! I went to 3 Walmart's, Target, Circuit City, and finally found the only copy of this CD in a Best Buy 45 min away from where I live!! And "NO STORE" had James Hall's release. BTW - Why is the "Gospel" music section always so small?!?!? Bless you all!

Pop Gospel, or Gospel Pop?,
By Book & Music Lover (Louisville, Kentucky USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 7th Episode- Live In Toronto (Audio CD)
I am about to step on many toes but today's gospel music sounds too much like the secular music of the day. This is very hard to put into words, but this gospel to me is no more than pop, or hip hop with a changing of the words.
Purchasing new gospel music has for me been very difficult, in that the musical arrangements are to coin a phrase, "Too Worldly," for my taste. Now I know many embrace the sound, and think it is fantastic, but I always thought there should be a difference in worship music, and todays pop. Alas though there is not. At the same time I can see why, though these artists may be sincere in their convictions, the music is out of sorts. Is the goal money, or praise?

This is just some good ol' time church music and even as a young person (I'm only 21) I feel that gospel music would be lost without CD's like this one. "Our Father You Are Holy" is a nice simple worship song and my favorite on the CD. "The Light" has been one of my favorites since I heard it on the radio. "One More Chance" IS THE SONG!! And the lady who leads it is truly anointed. Overall I enjoyed Ricky Dillard and New G. They have such a rich sound and I look forward to hearing more.

This CD is so WONDERFUL!!,

I really love this Cd. If you like Ricky Dillard you will love this one. I'm not sure why someone would say that this Ricky Dillard CD sounds secular, because he is the only one to me that is keeping the gospel choir alive. His choir is uniform, no one seems greater than the other. This is a great CD, enjoy!!

Doin' What It Do!!!!!,
This review is from: 7th Episode- Live In Toronto (Audio CD)
I must say that I have every Ricky Dillard project from 'The Promise' to this one, and the one thing I love about this group is that they stay true to what real choir music is, and they believe in maximizing their gifts. This project is the HOTNESS!! I can honestly say that I like every song on this project, however #3 through #11 take me through everytime. I've seen Lillian Lloyd in person, and she is a beast at ad-libs!! Check out YouTube for a couple of songs from the project. Keep doing it, Ricky!!

Awesomely Anointed Project,
By DrAnitra "dranitra" (Raleigh, NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 7th Episode- Live In Toronto (Audio CD)
This project is a must-have for those who really love to just stay in the presence of Almighty God. It's a CD to play on your way to church, after church, and throughout the week. To be sincere, this is one of the best projects of 2007 and it just hasn't gotten the kind of recognition on the circuit as it should have. There is enough anointing on this project to cover your "In His Presence" needs from Sunday to Sunday... I highly recommend this project and sincerely believe that this is a purchase that will not leave you disappointed since every track will propel you to praise the Lord! Oh, and for a real "in church" feeling play track 8 the moment you unwrap the CD package! (smile Saints!!!)

I have only one other Ricky Dillard Cd, this is outstanding gospel music, the vocals are magnificent, and the musicians are excellent. Being a chicago native, (now on the east coast) i can hear that chicago gospel signature sound. some of it sounds like the Thompson community Singers and Cosmopolitian Church choir and Father Hayes. I have not been able to stop playing the CD since i bought it. I love it. keep it coming Ricky Dillar.

MAN, HAS GOT TO BE ONE OF THE BEST GOSPEL CD'S THIS YEAR!!!
It's been A while since Ive heard a gospel choir put out some good choir music. I feel like most gospel artist have become as bad as some of the mainstream R&B artist. as far as putting out watered down gospel music. But thank God for Ricky Dillard. This CD lets me know that choirs have not become extinct. Choir Music will always be my first love. My favorites are the fist track, Bless His Holy Name and One More Chance. ANd I have to agee with the reviewer. It's been a while since Ive heard a song like One More Chance. It's straight church!!!!!

I was privileged to actually attend the 7th Episode recording in Toronto. My first fear was "Can they at least somewhat duplicate on cd what we heard, felt, and experienced in Toronto?"...well, they've done a pretty darn good job of it!
The cd opens with "Awesome God" a wonderful opener led by Ricky. From there they take you on a gospel music journey worth every penny of your money. There's not a bad song on the cd, but my favorites include: "Our Father, You Are Holy" - featuring two newer leads and New G veteran Elisha Harris, "One More Chance" - with Lillian LLoyd...check them out on youtube, "Bless His Holy Name", "Search Me Lord", and "Holy Spirit". This is Ricky's best cd to date, and his debut on his own record label. Order this one...YOU'LL LOVE IT!

Holy Spirit,
By Love to Worship "He is Worthy" (Zion, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 7th Episode- Live In Toronto (Audio CD)
As others have stated this is an extremely powerful CD. However, I disagree that it lacks the anointing. There are several songs on this CD that truly ministered to my spirit. One in particular is "Holy Spirit". Kishi Caldwell, a new but up and coming 'anointed" psalmist, pours her heart into this song and it is evident that she was truly being led by the Holy Spirit and not just singing words, proving that she is a gifted and poweful vocalist as well as sensitive to the spirit of God. Other songs on this CD are equally as anointed and provoke you to praise and worship. I believe this is one of Ricky's best.
