5.0 out of 5 stars The Capitol Bones hit another home run!, November 15, 2000

This review is from: Epistrophy (Audio CD)
This is the band's second CD, and if you like the sound of harmonizing trombones, you should order it immediately. Matt and his gang carry this off beautifully, as they did on his earlier release. For trombone lovers, this CD is a must!

5.0 out of 5 stars Trombone Jazz--this group sounds great, August 3, 2002

All I can say is this is one of the best all around jazz CD's I have heard. It is all around an amazing group of players. Great harmony, along with fantastic individual talents. If you enjoy listening to all types of jazz, from latin to swing to modern sounds, this CD has it all. This group is amazing. I own both of their CD's, and I cannot wait until they get another album out.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, May 13, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Epistrophy (Audio CD)
This CD is a must have if you are a jazz lover like me. The precision of this group is so amazing that sometimes you even think that you are listening to one trombone. They harmonize so nicely. If you like jazz then buy this CD right now.

Matt Niess and The Capitol Bones deserve to be considered the true successors of JJ Johnson and Kai Windig's jazz trombone ensembles. The combination of great arrangements, spectacular ensemble playing, a really hot rhythm section, and inspired solos, make this a must have CD.
