About the Author

Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father's paintings of historic English battles - which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father's office. Adam's father said they were a Blade family heirloom. Sadly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did! --This text refers to the Mass Market Paperback edition.

More About the Author

Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father's paintings of historic English battles - which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father's office. Adam's father said they were a Blade family heirloom. As a boy, Adam would spend days imagining who could have first owned the sword and shield. Eventually, he created a character - Tom, the bravest boy warrior of them all. The idea for Beast Quest was born. hen Adam grew up and decided that he wanted to be a writer, he was stuck for ideas - until he remembered the old sword and shield, and the imaginary boy he had created when he was young. Adam decided to bring Tom fully to life so that readers could go on the kind of adventures that he always wanted to when he was that age... And still does, even though he's grown up! When he's not writing Beast Quest books, Adam enjoys visiting museums and ancient battle sites. His main hobbies are fencing and football. He also spends a lot of time at home running around after his two exotic pets - a tarantula named Ziggy, and a capuchin monkey named Omar. These little rascals were the inspiration for two of the Beasts that Tom faces on his Quest - Arachnid and Claw. adly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Books for Boys, December 12, 2008
By
My son has a hard time finding books he's excited about. Everything is either too violent for his mother's approval or too slow for him. These books seem to be a perfect medium. The covers make them look a little scary. (For the mother, that is. They're very appealing to an eight or nine-year-old boy.) But I read one of them, and it was just a fun adventure about a boy and girl who have a quest to remove collars placed on beasts by an evil wizard. The collars make them bad, but once the collars are removed, the beasts are friendly again. My son loves these books and is always anxious for the next one to come out. Luckily, that seems to be about every three months.

5.0 out of 5 stars Epos the winged flame, June 2, 2008
One boy's journey to help the village becomes a quest to save the kingdom. Tom is ready to defeat the last beast and the most powerful too. The beast is a phoenix which lives in a volcano. And though Tom's friends have been there for him while he fought the other beasts,he will have to face this beast alone. But Tom has more to worry about than just Epos, he has to face the wizard that is controlling the beast. His name is Dark Mavel. I hope you enjoy the end of the exciting series of Beast Quest.

Book Review Beast Quest Epos The Winged Flame By Adam Blade
This review is by my 3rd grade student, Brody.

Tom, Elenna,Storm and silver are on a quest to free Epos. Tom will have to have to be strong to ever free Epos. But that's if he frees Epos. I like this book because it is my favorite. Tom is like a knight. Genera fiction.
