HEAVY METAL ELEVATED TO ART,
By Light of Earendil "(Ancient Mariner)" (Middle Earth) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Eppur Si Muove (Audio CD)
Monumental orchestration, head banging riffs, medieval tunes and some growling vocals. I don't know how to describe this music but is simply beautiful. The title track is one crazy composition, featuring splendid soprano female vocals on the chorus, but overall a terrific journey from which you'll never return.
This is a breath of fresh air among the filthy musical garbage that pollutes american pop and rock music.

Another Masterpiece from Haggard...,

This review is from: Eppur Si Muove (Audio CD)
Haggard is a unique band that makes the kind of music which blends the medieval baroque renassaince music with the metallic melodies. The frontman Asis Nasseri is such a musical genius that his songs can rival the greatest sonatas of classical music.
This "Eppur Si Muove" album is no less than the previous album "Awaking the Centuries" which is their magnum opus. And this album is about the life of Galileo Galilei and other astronomical scientists punished in the medieval ages, while the previous one was about the life of Nostradamus the Oracle. My favourites from this album are "Per Aspera Ad Astra", "Eppur Si Muove" and "All'inizio e la Morte". Not necessarily only the metal music fans, but also classical music fans must have Haggard albums because they use violin, flute and piano a lot in their songs. Their magical music takes us from our time to european medieval ages...

Well Harmonized Eclectic Music,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Eppur Si Muove (Audio CD)
I was not sure what to expect as I only heard one song from them. I discovered this CD to have a well thought out composition of classical, heavy metal (to a slower theme), with an operatic style. Sung in three languages, with eighteen band members, and set to Galilean history makes this a CD saturated with skill and feeling. While art/music is a matter of personal opinion, it is mine that personally I favor this CD.
