I'm surprised so few have given it a review! It's amazing! I was hesitant to buy anything that I couldn't be guaranteed about it's usefulness, but I'm glad I took the risk and bought this app!

Pros:

-I love how I can have folders inside of my folders inside of my folders! It's folder-ception!

-You can lock your notes, but don't forget the password!

-Your notes can be one word or more than a thousand.

-You can turn your notes into PDF or TXT format, and send them!

-Very customizable, from the margins to the folder appearance to what the page looks like.

-Very easy to copy/cut and paste.

-You can change the text's color, but you can't change individual word's color.

Cons:

-No italics, underline, or bold! Seriously annoyed by that.

Yeah, the ONLY con was no italics, underline, and bold... Well... that and it's not free xD But It was well worth the price and I'm very happy of my purchase.

This is a very capable straight up writing program. I also have OfficeSuite and while it has more formatting options, xWriter is much more user friendly for writing and the cut, copy, paste fuctions that you use for creating and editing text. I can write my text in xWriter and then either export to another program as plain text or copy and paste into OfficeSuite to put onto final format. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to allow me to save or access files outside the app, itself, as one can do with Amoeba. I recommend as a functional, no frills word processor.

I use this app for school all the time and it is great. Although, I think it needs to have some things added to it. One, i think you should be able to underline words and highlight them too. Also, i think there should be more font styles too.

After trying and having issues with a bunch of other note and word processing apps, I came across this little gem - what a find! Not just notes, it's a great, simplified writing app with a beautiful, easy to use interface. Full-screen writing layout, great background and text color options (you can make it look like a real lined paper pad, my favorite, or unlined paper, in white or soft colors), great folder system you can create, or just organize by title, date created, or date modified. Simple to send to others, too, as email text or .pdf. Combined with my Belkin universal bluetooth tablet keyboard, it has turned my Kindle 8.9" into a writing machine and thought organizer on the fly, or just sitting around in the house when I don't feel like sitting in front of my computer. Yes, it's missing a few formatting features like bold or underline found in full word processers, but I'm sure the developer will be adding more features in time (for which I'd happily chip in a couple more bucks, by the way). In the meantime it's the best I've found, I cannot speak highly enough of it. Thank you!

I had tried xWriter free, and I liked it. I used it for drafting college essays and outlines. Very easy to use, but lacking features, such as direct email and help files. I was actually just finishing up an essay; I needed to send it to my home desktop to finish editing in Word, but using the "Share" function only gave me a message to 'get the full version'.

I got the full version (this one, of course), without reading through the description and reviews. Maybe it's just me, and I need to dig deeper into the settings, but I still couldn't email directly. had to cut and paste (although xWriter did open an email template for me), and I still don't see any help files. In fact, I accidentally found out how to "select all" by trying all of the available buttons...

I hope to figure out how to get full functionality out of xWriter (assuming there is more to the full version), but - for now - it appears that I can do everything with the free version that I can with the full version. Like I said - maybe it's just me missing something...

By all means, try the free version - it's light, user friendly and great for when you need to get some work done but you're away from your PC. As for the full version - read the description and the reviews; it might be just what you need!

You have to click on the little + and pick a title for a document before a document screen appears, then you can write in, or paste in text by pressing the clipboard. After closing the file it appears on the document screen of the program. By pressing and holding, you can save it in text format or pdf, in 'external storage', which means you can find it on the Kindle Fire (in the xWriter folder which has the files you specify to save as text or pdf) and transfer to a computer. Most note programs I have tried hide the files, and emailing them is the only way to get them out of the Kindle.

If you want direct access to notes you write or text, be able to instantly convert them to pdf, or send them, and want to be able see them when you open the Kindle Fire on a computer, xWriter will do it all. Well worth the $2.

This is a great app for those who are away from the computer and still want to write. I've already put in at least 30 pages of references, plots, and all around basic info and writer pro still has room to spare. I enjoy the set up of this app. It is very easy to organize multiple stories or references easily.

5 stars. Definitely worth the upgrade from the free version.

Taking notes on this app is a breeze, but I wished it interfaced with other docs on computer like Word. Can only export files in a pdf.

I haven't used this app much because I couldn't find any instructions. I finally tried putting a recipe in it that I found on Pinterest. I had highlighted and tapped copy, then went to XWriter Pro and couldn't see how to copy the recipe in so I began typing it in. After working with it for a while I noticed the icons at the bottom, the scissors and the icon next to the scissor icon. I tapped it and my recipe appeared! I finally stumbled onto the solution to howto copy something into XWriter Pro. I just wish it were more intuitive. If it had been I would have given it 5 stars.
