When it comes to ink for my R1800 photo printer, I am concerned with the quality of the images I print. The Epson cyan UltraChrome Hi-Gloss ink cartridge provides superior resistance to water, fading and smudging. It is important to me that my prints are of high quality, so I don't attempt to use the cheaper compatible ink cartridges. The color can be duplicated, but all inks are not created equal. Third party options may produce a good print initially, but may not hold up or last as long.

Great product in every respect, but cost too much for what it really is - ink.

What's to say about this. It is a genuine Epson cartridge that saved me a longish trip to computer store. Recommended.

I was not sent the cartridge in the photo. Not being a very savvy Amazon purchaser yet, I opened the box, saw it did not fit my printer (R 1800)and got upset. I eventually took it to Staples to see if they would trade with me. (They did at one other time, when they had some damaged boxes with ink for an R 1800.) However they couldn't help me this time. The woman took the cartridge to the back, found out it had expired in 2006, and offered me the usual $2 for returning a cartridge to recycle. Turns out it was for an R 800 printer, not R 1800. So I paid for the cartridge and the shipping and got no cartridge, had to make a trip to figure out what to do, and a $2 refund in effect. Bummer.

Excellent clarity, coverage and performance from the ink in this cartridge. Can't beat the original.

I have owned several Epson Printers over the years and the qualipy of the print and seed of the printing has always astounded me. The one thing I have learned over & over agai, with each Epson I've owned, is to NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use "Compatible" or "OEM" Inks or carts on there printers. They WILL clog your print heads!

Epson uses propriatary inks that are much thinner then 3rt party ints and contain no lead or iron. Using NON-Epson Inks WILL clog the Print Heads every time & you'll have to replace the head. Using "Compatible" ink cartridges on printers where the head Print head is attached to teh cart (ie: HP, Dell, etc) if fine & they work perfectly, but printers like Epson & Cannon use teh same kind of ink that apparently 3rd party manufacturers can't get becasue I tried all of them and ALL clogged the Print Heads.

So my advice, spend the extra money and but AUTHENTIC Eposn Ink and Carts.

I don't think this ink requires any comments. Its genuine from Epson, period. It's perfect for the Epson printer it's designed for. I don't have a problem using third-party inks on my cheap everyday printers. But for professional quality jobs on a pretty expensive (at least when we bought it a few years ago) Epson Photo R1800 -- genuine ink is the only way to go.

I continue to be amazed at the quality of these Epson inks. Their archival/long-life qualities are very impressive.

I buy my Epson ink cartridges from Amazon.com because they have the lowest available price for genuine Epson cartridges and if you make sure you are buying from Amozon.com and not a sub-supplier, you can always get free freight. If you do serious work and serious volume, genuine Epson ink is the ONLY way to go unless you want constant problems and headaches.
