I want to start off positive. First, I think this is the best design I've ever seen for a projection screen. In a segment where there seems to be little to no innovation, this is something different.

When this screen is all folded up, I think it's far more compact than any of its kind. Primarily it's shorter, which is a huge deal. I carry this thing around in the back of my SUV, and I'm able to fit it in there width-wise. There's no other screen this size that can do that, and it's worth the purchase for that alone.

I disagree with the other reviewers saying this is heavy. It's lighter than any other screen this size that I've used. Perhaps they mean that it's heavy when inside the case it comes with. If so, then yes, it's incredibly heavy, but that's not entirely fair. What other projection screen comes with its own VERY sturdy case? None I know of. The case is clearly designed to stand up to air travel, and I'm sure it could. You have to compare the weight of the screens themselves, and this screen is both a little lighter and more manageable due to its length than others.

The screen is also a breeze to set up. After a few setups and takedowns, I have it to about 30 seconds on either end. It's EASY!

Now the downside:

The one major gripe I have about this screen is the height adjustment. I never really gathered from the listing here on Amazon or checking it out on Epson's site, but this thing simply doesn't rise up much at all. There's a clamp to release to adjust the height, but at most it only adjusts about 5 inches, and the resulting height maxes out at a level that I don't feel is nearly high enough. I use this screen weekly in a room that seats about 25-30 people around circular tables.

Easily transportable and fits in a car's trunk no problem. Comes with a well-padded carrying box with wheels and rubber feet. Heavy, but probably because of all of the steel and good hardware. Easy to set up. Screen rolls out to it's three preset sizes and back smoothly and easily.

The screen opens very easily, but overall, it is very heavy. I have to transport the screen often. The handle on the rolling case is at the top which means you are pulling and lifting all the weight. It would have been a better design had the case had some sort of flip out dolly-type handle half way down the case to balance the weight. Because of the weight, I would not recommend it if you had to transport it regularly.

Epson calls the ES3000 the "Duet Pro" and it's perfect for my home theater. I wasn't going to remodel the room, and rearranging it for a wall-mounted screen wasn't practical, so a tripod model made more sense. Most of them look like they belong in a church basement, but the ES3000 is very attractive and the construction quality is excellent.

Although it is true that the top and bottom edges of the screen curve forward, this is noticeable only when sitting off to a side while the screen is still relatively new. if you leave the ES3000 open for an extended period, gravity eventually flattens out the screen nicely, to the point where the curl is very minimal. See the picture, taken at an angle. Calibrating my projector, which has a full set of adjustments, the color accuracy came out perfectly for the Rec. 709 standard, according to an X-Rite i1Display meter.

I have used the ES3000's width setting to lock in 4:3, but now I just leave it open for 16:9, regardless of what I'm watching. The screen opens to its full 80" diagonal width and it stays there. I haven't had a reason to use the carrying case, but I have needed to take the screen down on occasion, and I appreciate how quickly and easily this can be done.

Was impressed by the reviews seen here and elsewhere. Know that it stands less than 6' tall fully extended - which is kind of a funny statement since the "extension" is only 3 1/2 inches. Seems like an unnecessary point of failure given the functionality.

The thing that surpised me the most is the actual screen material. It's a paper-like screen, not the typical material that most screens are made of. Seems very fragile. NOTE: The marketing material says "use anywhere". What is needs to say is "use anywhere INDOORS". Manual out-of-the-box says DO NOT USE OUTDOORS or where this is any airflow. Because the screen become as 16:9 sail.

Bought this for more of a hometheater, neighborhood movie night, portable events type of application so this won't work. Dissappointed, becuase the rest of the product is perfect.

This is a great design compared to the old type screen, the only drawback is it does not stand as tall. the bottom of the screen is at normal conference table height, so I am making a 12 inch high box to set it on. It does however work great to put in your car for out of town presentations etc.

Don't buy this screen for the carrying case! I had two of these shipped to me and the latch rivets kept popping out. The screen was fine and moved correctly. The stand makes the screen sit low to the ground and there isn't much of an adjustment to make it higher.
