This projector is of great value.

I also like the fact that it came with a carrying case that will make transporting it to monthly meetings more convenient.

It is light enough to take on the go and projects a very bright image (I can leave the lights on).

We needed a projector for our stock club and so I asked the advice of my son who is a professional video tech. The Powerlite X12 met all the specifications he indicated were important and fell within the price limit established by the club. I am very happy with the unit. It is very light, easy to operate and has great features including 2800 lumens which allows us to use the unit without turning out most or all the lights. Also Epson was one of the brands he recommended based on his experience and I have had great success with Epson printers. The unit was delivered prompty and without any damage or problems. I also like the fact that it came with a carrying case that will make transporting it to monthly meetings more convenient.

I ordered the Epson Powerlite X12 after doing quite a bit of research on the Internet and reading all the reviews posted here. It's a great value for the money. I do photo workshops and was looking for a projector that would provide exceptional sharpness and color fidelity of my photos as well as capture the fine details found in the various imaging editing software I use during my sessions. The Powerlite X12 is bright (I didn't need to dim the lights!), quick and easy to set up, quiet and a perfect fit for me.

I'm very pleased with my x12 projector.

The good:
- The image is bright. The x12 handles very well mild/low levels of ambient light, so no need to turn all lights off, just dim them.
- Colors are pleasant/saturated, and the whites are plenty white/bright.
- Lamp life is probably good. I had a similar Epson before, and I've got ~90% of the lamp life advertised.

The bad:
- The black level is a little higher than I'd like. Not a show stopper by any means - it's still ok for me.
- Resolution (XGA) is not enough for home theater. However, 1080p costs much more, and I can perfectly live with XGA, so it's not such a big drawback.

The ugly:
Nothing here

In conclusion:
A great value little projector. Neither out of the ordinary nor having any serious weakness. Does what it's supposed to do, and does it well.

I'm using this to project sketches and drawings on surfaces larger than our opaque projector can handle. Using a thumb drive means I don't have to hassle witht connecting the projector via a (very long) cable to the computer. Sharp image, and nice and bright (doesn't require a darkened room like the opaque projector). When I ran into a problem re file formats, customer support was excellent.

Set-up instructions should mention the high-altitude warning (we're at 7,000 feet) more prominently.

I present a lot at various places. This is easy to set up for all kinds of configurations: USB for older MacBook, HDMI for Apple TV and iPad, and VGA for laptops. It is light enough to take on the go and projects a very bright image (I can leave the lights on). I highly recommend this projector.

This was true plug and play! There is also more than one way to connect to a source. I bought this for a small photo club to preview photos and it is working perfectly. Any number of members will be using it so ease of use was very important. Photographic quality will also be important but we've not had the projector long enough to analyze that quality. I bought this projector on the recommendation of a friend who uses a different model of an Epson to present slide shows and he said the quality is acceptable - from him that is high praise.

This projector has lots of features, like hdmi, good resolution, good bulb life, comes in sexy white haha! Starts up fast. Doesn't get extremely hot after 2 hours of continuous use, and reaches long distances with clear image. I recommend it!

Use it to show Adult Sunday School lecture videos. Have used this only three times so far, but it is much better than the AAXA M2 LED projector that died on me after two years. The Epson X12 cost about $80 more, but it's worth it. The X12 is brighter, sharper, has great color, and quick set-up. Bigger foot print, but no big deal. I like the easy horizontal image adjustment if the projector is at an angle to the wall or screen. Must connect to a laptop computer for input, but HDMI connect works great. The AAXA had a couple of features I miss, such as internal memory and access directly from a USB, but overall the Epson X12 does a much better presentaton. Picture doesn't wash out even with room lights on. The only reason for four stars instead of five is the speaker is marginal in volume and clarity. I connect a pair of powered PC speakers to the laptop to get great sound.
