Created with space-age styling to coordinate with those ultrahip G4 Cubes from Macintosh, the Epson Stylus 8³ ink-jet printer is as smart as it is beautiful. An impressive 2,880 x 720 dpi resolution keeps colors true and edges crisp. It prints 9 ppm in color and 12 ppm in black, meaning that this stylish box is more than capable of keeping up in busy offices. Installation is a snap with convenient USB hubs, and Epson includes two photo-editing programs along with its drivers. Paper sizes and materials include anything from index cards to banners, transparencies, card stock, and labels. Its versatility is well suited to busy home crafters or graphics professionals. Although the transparent top panel coordinates with Macintosh, the 8³ printer can be used just as easily with PCs.

Epson includes a one-year warranty that covers parts and service.

This is the best inkjet printer I've ever owned. The printoutsare great. Anyone who's shopping around needs to see the ouput thisprinter can generate. Plus this inkjet is much more quiet than anyI've heard. No more clanking, crunching noises; just a medium-pitchedhum.

And as a surprizing bonus, it comes with wonderfulsoftware. PhotoImpression 2000 is quite an exceptional image editor.It's user interface is modern and sleek; it takes some getting use tothough. PhotoMontage 2000 has a similar design, but it's very simpleto use. Just select a picture and go. And you watch the image getconverted to an amazing montage (mosaic of small pictures) with thephoto library included or your own images.

The only minor downsideto the printer is its appearance. It's not as radical as I thought itwould be. It still has a beige body with only the lid beingtransparent. But who cares, anyway? It's quiet, fast, has impressiveoutput, and fantastic software. It's easily a top-notch product....

Has some down sides, however compared to the majority of the other computers in the same cost range and ability, it is definatly a five.

I have to say this is one heck of a good printer. I had worked a lot with Lexmark/Compaq printers (in my job) but this one really impresses me. The price, technology, quality and cost of ownership is a FAR better value than I have previously enjoyed. Footprint is larger than some (probably because the power supply is internal, NO POWER ADAPTER? YIPPEEEEE!!!) but it does a great job feeding paper and keeping the noise at a minimum. The resolution 2880 x 720 dpi is excellent and the print options are of buisness capability (double sided, page sharing, brochure, photo options, color correction, etc.). My advice: Get it and go! ;^)
