Compatible with both Windows and Macintosh, the Epson 1270 ink-jet printer can crank out 8-by-10-inch prints in under two minutes, 11-by-14-inch prints in under four minutes, and even 13-by-44-inch panoramics at a decent clip. It comes with standard features like a feeder tray capacity of 100 sheets and Adobe Photoshop 5.0 LE. And you can even upgrade to share the printer on an Ethernet network using the Axis 1440 print server. The Epson 1270 connects to a Windows-based PC using the standard parallel port or through the serial port on a Mac.
Epson provides the full assurance of a one-year limited warranty with an exchange program, and a toll-free support hot line to answer any questions.
With the Epson Stylus Photo 1270, you can print 6-color, 1,440 x 720 dpi quality shots--everything from portfolios and soft proofs to panoramics and exhibition prints. Instead of endless trips to your neighborhood photo lab, the Epson Stylus Photo 1270 ink-jet printer becomes your own desktop photo lab. It delivers 8-by-10-inch prints in under two minutes, 11-by-14 prints in less than four minutes, and fast 13-by-44 panoramics.
Tiny four-picoliter variable-sized ink droplets deliver fine shadow detail and highlights across a range of color that has twice the tonal range of many other ink jets. The Windows- and Macintosh-compatible Epson Stylus Photo 1270 ink-jet printer includes Adobe Photoshop 5.0 LE, a special offer for MonacoEZcolor 1.5 software, and a professional package of options. It also comes with a one-year warranty and the Epson Exchange Program.

Excellent Photo Printer,
This review is from: Epson Stylus Photo 1270 Inkjet Printer (Office Product)
As a professional photographer, I've been very impressed with this line of Epson Printers (sister to the 870 and 875DC). The quality of printing is outstanding. The prints rival what I've done on my Fuji 3000 or Kodak LED printers. With longevity of 9-10 years for Epson's glossy and 24-26 years with the specail Heavy-Weight Matte (the Matte paper is somewhat like cardstock), it's an outstanding choice for non-critical printing like proofs or promotionals pieces. And to top that off, it prints everything else a printer is used for.It was very easy to setup and get printing on and the best thing of all is that the color has been very true to the file we send it. Overall, this printer is simply amazing.

The Best,
By A Customer
This review is from: Epson Stylus Photo 1270 Inkjet Printer (Office Product)
I have just replaced an Epson SP750 with the SP1270. The 750 does nice work but the 1270 produces, without a doubt, the best images I have ever seen from an inkjet printer.I have printed 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 photos on both the new premium glossy photo paper and Matt heavyweight paper and you cannot tell the difference between those prints and copied done by a photo lab. As for other types of printing the 1270 also produces clean, crisp output. PDF's printed with the 1270 are much better looking compared to those printed another printer. The1270 will replace my Epson SP750 and SC1520 both good printers, but no where near the quality of the 1270. In addition, the 1270 is fast and very quiet.

Prints do not last as advertised.,
By David Dekalb (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Epson Stylus Photo 1270 Inkjet Printer (Office Product)
The quality of prints from this printer is absolutely amazing. However, when using the Premium Glossy paper, I and many other people on e-mail lists have experienced an orange shift in as little as 24 hours. You must read Epson's advertising very carefully - it says that prints are "lightfast." What they fail to say is that the prints will beging to fade and shift color due to certain gasses (specifically ozone). If you use the Heavyweight Matte paper, the prints seem to be fine, especially if you keep everything under glass, but who can do that for every print?
