5.0 out of 5 stars A review of Epson gloss for R1800
My Epson R1800 has problems, but they aren't the fault of the inks as far as I know. When the printer works right, the prints print fast and they look great. The ink cartridges are possibly the easiest to load of any printer I have used.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ink is just expensive
It's how the printer companies really make their money. I cringe that it costs me $120 to replace all of my ink cartridges on my Epson R1800 and I never get as many prints as I think I should. A necessity for sure, there is no way around buying these things, I just wish they were a little cheaper. The quality of the inks are very good though and the prints I get from...

What's to say about this. It is a genuine Epson cartridge that saved me a longish trip to computer store. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Epson quality is first rate, January 6, 2010

You can't beat using the right Epson products if you have an Epson printer. Some people don't like that you can't use cheap refills, but if you want great photos, spend the money. It's still cheaper than processing at a store with film.

The gloss optimizer is the perfect last step when printing your photos on high gloss Epson paper. It protects the image and maintains a consistent sheen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best prices for ink, February 15, 2008

I've tried "compatible" ink cartridges and the results are often poor, wasting money and ink. I've also had compatible cartridges leak ink all over the desk. I only use genuine Epson cartridges and Amazon has the lowest prices and fastest delivery. Free super-saver freight keeps the costs low (so make sure they are being sold by Amazon.com and not another vendor selling through Amazon.com).

4.0 out of 5 stars Compatible with the Epson R800 and R1800 photo printers, March 26, 2007
This review is from: Epson Gloss Optimizer (T054020) (Office Product)
When it comes to ink for my R1800 photo printer, I am concerned with the quality of the images I print. The Epson gloss optimizer UltraChrome Hi-Gloss ink cartridge provides superior resistance to water, fading and smudging. It is important to me that my prints are of high quality, so I don't attempt to use the cheaper compatible ink cartridges. The color can be duplicated, but all inks are not created equal. Third party options may produce a good print initially, but may not hold up or last as long.

PROS:
Provides superior resistance to water, fading and smudging

CONS:
Price
