4.0 out of 5 stars Compatible with the Epson R800 and R1800 photo printers
When it comes to ink for my R1800 photo printer, I am concerned with the quality of the images I print. The Epson magenta UltraChrome Hi-Gloss ink cartridge provides superior resistance to water, fading and smudging. It is important to me that my prints are of high quality, so I don't attempt to use the cheaper compatible ink cartridges. The color can be duplicated, but...

3.0 out of 5 stars Ink is just expensive
It's how the printer companies really make their money. I cringe that it costs me $120 to replace all of my ink cartridges on my Epson R1800 and I never get as many prints as I think I should. A necessity for sure, there is no way around buying these things, I just wish they were a little cheaper. The quality of the inks are very good though and the prints I get from...

4.0 out of 5 stars Compatible with the Epson R800 and R1800 photo printers, March 26, 2007
This review is from: Epson T054320 Magenta Ink Cartridge (Office Product)
When it comes to ink for my R1800 photo printer, I am concerned with the quality of the images I print. The Epson magenta UltraChrome Hi-Gloss ink cartridge provides superior resistance to water, fading and smudging. It is important to me that my prints are of high quality, so I don't attempt to use the cheaper compatible ink cartridges. The color can be duplicated, but all inks are not created equal. Third party options may produce a good print initially, but may not hold up or last as long.

PROS:
Provides superior resistance to water, fading and smudging

CONS:
Price

5.0 out of 5 stars Best price on genuine Epson ink, February 15, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Epson T054320 Magenta Ink Cartridge (Office Product)
I buy my Epson ink cartridges from Amazon.com because they have the lowest available price for genuine Epson cartridges and if you make sure you are buying from Amozon.com and not a sub-supplier, you can always get free freight. If you do serious work and serious volume, genuine Epson ink is the ONLY way to go unless you want constant problems and headaches.

What's to say about this. It is a genuine Epson cartridge that saved me a longish trip to computer store. Recommended.

I am a professional photographer and five years ago I bought the cheaply-made Epson R1800 printer. Since then I've spent over $1000 on ink and I only print in moderate quantities. This POS printer uses way too much ink which I'm constantly buying to replace the eight ink set at $13.00 eaach! This would be fine and dandy except that the printer nozzles are always clogging and you have to constantly run the ink-sucking maintenance tools to get a decent print. When it does work, the prints have an ugly bluish-cast. BUYERS BEWARE: don't buy Epson ink or printers. Its a scam!

I have an Epson R1800 that uses ink very quickly and the cartirdges are small. I find ordering through Amazon very convenient as a Prime member I get free 2 day shipping and the prices are very competitive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genuine, and thus perfect, June 21, 2009

I don't think this ink requires any comments. Its genuine from Epson, period. It's perfect for the Epson printer it's designed for. I don't have a problem using third-party inks on my cheap everyday printers. But for professional quality jobs on a pretty expensive (at least when we bought it a few years ago) Epson Photo R1800 -- genuine ink is the only way to go.

1.0 out of 5 stars Epson T054320 Magenta Ink Cartridge, September 8, 2008
This review is from: Epson T054320 Magenta Ink Cartridge (Office Product)
I purchased 2 sets of this ink with Cyan. I have faint area whenever I print the parts where magenta and cyan ink is required while other area look fine. I'm not sure because this is made in Mexico not in Japan? Very disappointed. :(

4.0 out of 5 stars No substitute, June 5, 2008
This review is from: Epson T054320 Magenta Ink Cartridge (Office Product)
I believe in competition but I tried a refilled cartridge and although the quality was fine it didn't last as long. Weighing that against the slightly lower price of the refills I think the originals are the way to go. Epson makes good printers and has been eclipsed by HP over the years. However I think you can still get more for your money by buying from the underdog.
