better deal than the 69 series,
By
This review is from: Epson T068120-D1 Black Ink Cart Hi capacity Dual Pack (Office Product)
As of this writing every printer that takes this cartridge (T068120, 68 series black) also takes the T069120 (69 series black). This cartridge gives you 50% more prints vs the T069120 but the T069120 is more common and therefore you can often get it farther below list and/or with free shipping. Some of the printers (check yours) will also take the T088120 (88 series black) cartridge, but it's always a bad deal. Pages per cartridge: T068120: 370 pages T069120: 245 pages T088120: 170 pages Prices per page based on current Amazon prices (including shipping) T068120: 5.9 cents/page T069120: 6.8 cents/page T088120: 7.5 cents/page So as of this writing it makes sense to get this cartridge even with the steeper discounts on the other ones. And given the 69 series is already more steeply discounted I'd expect this cartridge to only widen its price advantage over time as it becomes more popular.

Epson Markets Ink not Printers,
By The Old Dutchman (Severna Park, MD United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Epson T068120-D1 Black Ink Cart Hi capacity Dual Pack (Office Product)
In the six months I owned the Epson printer I poured vast amounts of ink through it. Worse than being expensive ink is that the printer used blue ink along with black no matter what I did. Was this an Epson plan? Local stores rarely have Epson 68 and 69 inks in stock because of how much people must buy. The ink dries slowly and fouls the printer fairly quickly; so quickly that the printer clogged up and gave up the ghost in less than half a year. No amount of head cleaning, alignment or other adjustments made a difference. I have given up color printers and gone laser. Buy a cheap Epson printer, and pay lots more for ink in short order.

May not be the real deal,

I had in the past purchased this exact cartridge number directly from the Epson Store for my CX6000 and it worked fine. The cartridges I received from Amazon were labeled the same but had a different-looking electronics panel and were not recognized by my printer. Since these were bought as spares at the beginning of the school term, the problem was discovered way too late to seek a refund or replacement, so I'm out the full purchase price.

It's amazing, in a world where you can pay 1.50 for a bottle of handsoap at a store with years worth of refills for another 3.00, you can buy a printer for $70 yet pay just as much to fill it with ink that will last a few decent pictures at best.it's cheaper on your wallet to take your printer and chuck it out the window and order a newer one online, instead of paying for ink refills from this brand. it's worse for the enviorment but i'm sure you can get a tax credit by donating the old printer to goodwill. will need to research decent printers with reasonable ink.

Epsom High Capacity Black Ink Cartridges for the NX415,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Epson T068120-D1 Black Ink Cart Hi capacity Dual Pack (Office Product)
I own a NX415 Epsom printer-scanner. Ink cartridges don't last very long with everyday use. I was browsing the Internet, one day, and came across this money saving BLACK INK High capacity cartridge deal! This is the second time that I have ordered them... they are certainly cheaper... and work well!! Wish that I could find the same high capacity cartridges for the color inks!!

One ink cartridge defective,

I purchased the dual capacity ink through amazon.com, and just like another customer in August, and one of the cartridges was defective. I called epson and after a long wait, they are replacing it, but for some reason they said they'll only do it once. I hope that was just a bad batch, so I can continue to buy them off amazon. They're a lot less expensive.

This ink definetly lasts longer than the Epson 69 black ink. It prints nicely.

I use this ink in my Epson C120 printer. It works well and lasts a reasonable amount of time. For more longevity I print most of my stuff on draft. You can hardly tell the difference. Imitation ink killed my last printer, so I'm willing to suck it up and pay for the Durabrite ink.

Pigment-based inks...not necessarily the best for everyday printing,
By Todd G. Pieper (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Epson T068120-D1 Black Ink Cart Hi capacity Dual Pack (Office Product)
As I am back in school and have to print off many things, I wish I had more convenient options for printing besides my Epson all-in-one. Since these inks are *pigment based*/Durabrite they will obviously not last as along as other printers that use "regular" ink since the particle size of these types of inks is much bigger. That said, I initially got my Epson printer because of these inks; as they are pigment based, they are particularly useful for the longevity of family photos or art prints or digital works such as that done on Photoshop since they are more resistant to fading and UV light. In that sense I am okay with the lessened output of the cartridges in general, but if I haven't used my color cartridges in a while my printer will eventually tell me that they need to be replaced despite the fact that they still contain quite a bit of ink. Also, if I don't have at least some ink in ALL the cartridges, my all-in-one will not work at all...even for scanning purposes...a major annoyance. (And it definitely doesn't help to call customer service to address this issue...all they will tell you is to get more ink to resolve the issue.) If you do a lot of general, everyday printing, I'd suggest looking into another Epson printer (one that does not use the pigment based/Durabrite inks) or even a different brand.

Incompatible "68" Black ink with Epson CX7400 printer,
This review is from: Epson T068120-D1 Black Ink Cart Hi capacity Dual Pack (Office Product)
I am very disappointed in Epson for making the "68" color ink cartridges compatible with the Epson CX7400 All-In-One printer BUT you can't use the "68" Black ink cartridge. There is just no customer satisfaction regarding this issue. At least I can save on the color cartridges.
