Book Description

June 16, 2006
One of the most vexing problems of the last 25 years is the fact that despite the great progress made by Western women, they occupy very few top political and corporate posts. 13% of the members of the House of Representatives, and 13% of corporate officers are women. How then can women share in the leadership and be able to shape the society that they live in? What women have accomplished so far is the first stage only. There is a need for a new approach, a second stage, in which women use the awesome power they possess. They have 50% of the vote and 85% of all retail purchases are made by them. In stage two, we need to consider three questions: Why should women seek political and economic equality? What is standing in their way (in other words, why haven't they done so decades ago)? Finally, how to go about it?

About the Author

Roland Ezri was born in Cairo, Egypt. He immigrated to Canada some 40 years ago. He presently resides in Ottawa, Ontario.

He began thinking about Equal Partners some 20 years ago. During his working years, he was particularly disturbed by two things: The lack of respect towards women, and the implausible reasons used all the time to block their career path.

He cares deeply about the welfare of the planet, and believes that we will have a sane and balanced world only when women share on a fifty-fifty basis the political and economic power.
