life on the equator,
By A Customer
This review is from: Equator (Photo Book) (Hardcover)
I personally loved this book. I think it portrays the Seychelles in a different way. Usually books from the Seychelles are full of vibrant colorful pictures of the vegetation, the people and so on. This book is different, it shows us that we don't need to see much of the color, but instead to focus on the expressions on the people's face and to view a typical day of a fisherman for example in the picture of the man and the ray fish... Some pictures might seem a little out there in terms of sexuality at times, but it is what makes this book unique. In return this keeps us in a state of reality and puts us in touch with our basic instincts.

Magical & Mysterious Island,
By Duncan Cheuk-sang Wong (Hong Kong) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Equator (Photo Book) (Hardcover)
Mostly Black & While plus some colour images, which present Seychelles island in a contrasting manner. Contrast and humour between images of people, animals, plants, and the environment. The cover photo is excellent and attractive, what is surreal portrait of a evil ! Not only attractive images, this TASCHEN book has attractive price too.

Capturing a "hot" climate thru photography,
By Casey C. Zilionis (Palm Springs, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Equator (Photo Book) (Hardcover)
An absolutely magical collection of photographic images which trasport you to the steamy and sensual lands around the earth's equator. Barbieri's photography, generally closeups, invoke a challenge to the eye...."what in the world is this....oh my!" Nature comes full circle in this collection that will have you smelling the freshly caught fish and wiping the sweat from your brow. Put this one at the top of your coffee table book pile.
