About the Artist
Fergie Frederiksens career started on the fast track when he replaced Tommy Shaw in the band MS FUNK in 1975. Shaw suggested Fergie as his replacement when he went on to join STYX. Shortly after, Fergie met Patrick Leonard and together they formed TRILLION and were signed by Epic Records. Patrick Leonard later went on to work as MADONNAs musical director and he also wrote many of her greatest hits. In 1981 Fergie became the new vocalist in LeROUX, a band signed to RCA. Fergie played a huge part in making the all time classic record So Fired Up. Next Fergie started ABANDON SHAME with his old friend Ricky Phillips, drummer Pat Torpey , Tim Pierce (MR. BIG, RICK SPRINGFIELD), and guitarist Scott Sheets of PAT BENATAR fame. Ricky Phillips gave a video to his friend Jeff Porcaro and almost immediately, Fergie was asked to join TOTO to replace singer Bobby Kimball and recorded Isolation with them. After some well deserved time off, Fergie and Ricky Phillips decided to finally to do a album together, which was to become the Frederiksen-Phillips album. Fergie then signed with MTM and Ricky Phillips was called in to oversee the production of Equilibrium.
