Until I moved somewhere that snowed! Up until a few years ago, I lived in South Florida or Southern California, so my horses never grew shaggy winter coats. Now that I live in Missouri, they both grow pretty heavy coats. In the spring when they start to shed, it's a real pain in the rear to use a regular curry comb. This tool has made it SO easy! Just scrape it lightly over their back (it doesn't hurt this way, if you do it too hard on a thin-skinned horse, it could be painful ... so be careful!) and the hair comes out easily in huge clumps. I highly recommend - this tool has been a HUGE help every spring!
