Book Description

December 16, 1993 0632036087 978-0632036080 2
Chronic injury is unfortunate for all owners and trainers as it is far more difficult to treat than less serious injuries and in some cases irreversible damage will have been caused by the delay. Prompt and appropriate treatment, however, will always give a performance equal to that achieved before injury. In this book the author explains basic anatomy linked to common sites of injury and describes the machines available to adequately rehabilitate the horse. The book will be essential reading for all owners and trainers of horses involved in athletic activity such as show jumping, racing, eventing and polo. It will also be a useful reference to veterinary surgeons and physiotherapists specialising in this field. The book has been updated throughout to reflect current thinking.

This review is from: Equine Injury, Therapy and Rehabilitation (Paperback)
This is a book worth finding. I use it regularly because of its practical approach and easy to use format. It has accurate and current applications for alternative therapies - including Laser, Electro-magnetics and ultrasound. This book belongs in every serious horsemans barn bookshelf! 5.0 out of 5 stars Equine Injury, Therapy & Rehabilitation by M. Bromiley, January 8, 2002

Mary McCrea (Langley, BC, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Equine Injury, Therapy and Rehabilitation (Paperback)
This handy reference manual is in its second edition of print. The author starts off with basic anatomy of the horse, covering bones through to the outer layer of skin. She explains functions of each topic area(bones, tendons, ligaments, muscles, skin, lungs, heart, etc.)to enable Horse Owners to practise preventative medicine and thereby prevent injuries from occuring. The author covers stresses for each area, common areas of injury and the whys of such; rehabilitation techniques--with the pros and cons of each; short and long term weaknesses that can occur; and much, much more!

This book is highly recommended for the Horse Owner or Rider's Library.
