Review
I believe this book provides a great overview of owning a horse. Although I have been around horses for over 21 years, I still learned some new facts and understanding of horses. I would also want a teacher edition, quizzes, worksheets, test generator, and/or workbook.
Equine Science, by Rick Parker is written in a style that contains all necessary information, but is not overwhelming for high school students to understand. It is clear and easy to understand. It challenges students to learn, but does not go over their heads. The diagrams and pictures in each chapter are great and help students to understand material better. It has really helped my students to have good pictures to look at and refer to as they study for tests and quizzes. Also, I have used many of the Student Activities at the end of each chapter. They are a great supplemental teaching tool. -Jason Bair Agriscience Instructor Madison High School Rexburg, ID
