I bought this generator for a home back up power source. I've had it about 8 months and I'm extremely pleased with it so far. I installed a transfer switch and outside plug for the generator cord. I cut off the main breaker in my box, started up the generator, and plugged it into the transfer switch outlet. I am able to run my refrigerator, stand up freezer, furnance fan, microwave, mixer, tv, and 3 lamps all at the same time. All this being powered is only showing about 2,700 watts being used, but this is not counting surge wattage. I hook up the generator and power the house about once a month just to keep it ready for use. I've never had a problem starting this generator and the electric start feature is GREAT. I did a lot of research before buying a Champion because I had never heard of them. Most of the reviews I found was on the 3,500 watt, and out of 174 reviews, 98% positive feedback. I also found out this is a very close clone of the Honda generators as far as the engine conponents. With this, I thought I'd give it a shot and I'm glad I did. In my opinion, for the price, you can't go wrong.

Bought my 9,000 at Costco for $699. After much research and investigation I found this to be on equal with the ETQ TG72K12 which I had originally wanted, but could not find. Having a mostly "electric household" stove, clothes dryer, 2 hot water tanks, etc., I was able to make use of the additional Surge power. Comes with a battery, remote start, hard rubber wheels, and an hour meter which most do not. Heavy frame and nice paint job. Easy to set up, starts and runs easily under all loads. I'm very happy and would recommend this over any others I've seen.

Good Luck,

Bill

This generator priced lower than comparable makes, arrived faster than expected and was easy to assemble, set up and run. Surprise surprise it ran my 42,000 BTU central air conditioner which everyone told me could not happen. For home use I will still use a portable AC unit so I can run other necessary appliances together in an emergency situation without draining the 6.5 gal. tank too quickly.. My neighbor saw this Champion and when he heard what I paid he immediately wanted to order one. It looks good in my garage even if it runs a bit noisily ---after all it is clearly marked HEAVY DUTY.

This unit arrived ahead of schedule. Instruction were to the point and easy to follow, and as a first time user of a generator this was a good thing.Had a small oil leak and thought I had a big problem, but as it turned out if you pour in all the break in oil ( provided )it will leak around the fill hole until it gets to the right level. I don't know if anyone else had this problem but it was just minor. The only thing I wish this generator had is a remote control as I use it as power for a concession. All in all I would reccomend this to a friend and would purchase again. When I had the oil leak and called Champion they were courteous and helpful.
