5.0 out of 5 stars Much cheaper than the Canon brand batteries
I have purchased two of these, along with two Canon brand batteries for my Canon Rebel XTi DSLR. I was a bit worried to buy them at first, because I read reviews elsewhere that they don't last as long as the Canon ones or are not as good quality, but after getting them, I think all of that is just people making claims without any proof. I have been using them for over a...

1.0 out of 5 stars These are not working at all for me!
I ordered two of these to replace a couple of several-year-old Sterling Tek batteries that I have been using in our Canon Powershot S80. They look to be identical in shape and size to the old batteries. However, after charging them overnight (and the charger shows them as charged) I put them in the camera and it immediately shows a "low battery" icon and says "please...

This review is from: Canon NB-2L. NB-2LH NB2L Brand New Equivalent 1200mAh Rechargeable Battery, for Digital Rebel XT/XTi, PowerShot S30/40/45/50/60/70/80 (Electronics)
I have been using them for over a year now, and none of my batteries have died yet. I haven't had any problems and can't tell any difference between these and the Canon brand batteries.

The Canon batteries cost around $40, and these cost (currently) $6 each. That is a huge savings if you are looking to get a backup battery. I think every DSLR owner should have at least 1 backup battery, and preferably two. I ended up buying 4 because of going on camping trips or hiking for several days, and wasn't sure when I would be able to recharge my batteries. It ended up being overkill, even though I took several hundred pictures each day, but I am still glad I have them especially these new ones since they are so cheap.

The way I figure it, is even if they don't last as long as the Canon batteries, if they last 1/7th of the time, then they are still worth the money, because they cost 1/7th as much. If they last longer than that, then you are saving money. I take 10,000-20,000 pictures every year at least, and these batteries are still going strong (although I randomly pick which battery to use each time, so switching between 4 is extending their lives I am sure - but I really believe these are worth the money).

BOTH batteries do this. I'm not sure what is wrong, but they simply aren't working for our Canon Powershot S80. Now I have to send them back and order some others... disappointing.
