I have enjoyed this purchase tremendously. Against advisement of everyone saying wireless remotes were useless at short range distances I went ahead and ordered this. Boy were they wrong.
I have used this remote both standing right next to my camera and at distances. I have even tripped the shutter from the comfort of my car! There's only one attribute that is both and advantage and a disadvantage. The blinking light on the camera receiver that lets you know it is working. When shoting reflective surfaces it can show up in the image. This can be avoided with filters, shooting at a different angle or as a last resort photoshoping it out. So it's not that huge a disadvantange. Plus the blinking light is part of the beauty of being a great distance away. You'll know that it tripped the shutter since you won't be able to hear it. Still comptemplating? Well I don't have to tell you how limiting those cord cable releases can be. What I will tell you is that compared to the manufactured remote releases for each camera type. You will be saving $40 and up even after the shipping costs. Great product, I would recommend to anyone as a first purchase or an upgrade.

Sometimes, I wonder if people actually try the product before they write reviews. This product is a perfect example. If you read the one star reviews, there's the person who is angry that the unit doesn't work with his Sony A100. Well, yes it does and it works quite well. The remote port is covered by a little rubber flap and is in the right rear of your camera.
Then, there's the one star reviewer who rips this product as being slow to arrive, cheaply built in cheap packaging and totally unworkable. Well, everybody is entitled to an opinion. Here's mine. I'm an Amazon Prime member and my product arrived as promised with free two day shipping. The box is colorful, nicely printed board with product descriptions in well written English on all sides. It says there's a 3 year warranty and it encourages you to be environmentally responsible and directs you to a website that shows you how to recycle electronics. Inside the box is a blow-molded plastic tray that snugly holds the unit and protects it from damage and that in turn is wrapped in a small plastic bag with some silica gel. The brief but descriptive instructions are nicely printed. In short, the packaging is just dandy if that's what you are concerned about. Moving on to the quality of the remote receiver and transmitter, they are both built of plastic and seem quite sturdy although they are small (which is good). The receiver hook up wire is solidly secured to the little receiver box with a rubber strain relief and the tiny plug fit both my A350 and A100 perfectly. The small transmitter has a metal collapsable antenna that is securely fastened to the unit. To recap, they unit seems to me like it is a quality product. I guess the manufacturer could have made the two boxes out of machined aluminum for a hundred bucks, but then everybody would cry about the price. By the way, did I mention that this little gem only cost me $27 bucks? I mean really, as long as it trips the shutter, how can you go wrong? All of this stuff about the box and cheap build quality is just plain senseless, especially since just the opposite seems to be the case. Performance? Excellent. It worked standing next to the camera. It worked 10 feet away. It worked through three interior walls. It worked on the second floor when triggered from the first floor. It work outdoors at over 100 feet. It just worked. So, let's revisit the key points. Inexpensive. Well built. Easy to use. Performs precisely as promised. Is there something else you need from a product?

I recently bought this remote for a replacement for one I recieved as a gift that broke. It works great, infact better than the $60.00 remote that broke on me. I'd definately recommend this item to anyone!
