This review is from: Erector Radio Control with Digital Music Player, 354 Pieces (Toy)
This toy is great for a kid who is able to sit still and concentrate on directions, has a high tolerance level before becoming frustrated, and fine motor skills. The instructions are simple to follow and detailed, but the many small parts and tiny tools can be hard to manipulate. A "third hand" would be useful, or nuts that locked into fitted slots on the parts. I would stick to the recommended age group and consider your child's (or grandchild's) temperament before purchasing. It has great educational potential.

Bought this for my nephew last Christmas. Not only did he build it by himself, he took it apart and then made some design tweeks.
Definitely recommend.

This toy was purchased for my 12 year old daughter. She sat down and put it together by herself within a couple of hours (but took a couple of short-cuts on spacers). The car ran, but after getting dad's help to remedy the omitted steps, it works great for her. She plugs in her MP3 player and away they go! Surprisingly loud volume, but adjustable. Pretty durable too - a younger cousin "drove" it down a carpeted staircase with minimal damage - a small bend in a support that was able to be straightened out.
