5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the little engineers!
I just gave this to my son for his 6th birthday and he loves it. He already had 'experience" doing Knex, and this uses the same mechanical understanding that Knex does. He was totally engaged and loved building the motorized robot. His big sis (8 yrs old) was just as entranced and engaged while building the non-motorized helicoptor.

1.0 out of 5 stars junk
The plastic screws slip on plastic. They dont hold. The item begins falling apart as you are assembling it. Once assembled the item is not playable...loosens up and falls apart in minutes. As another person mentioned...the wheels completly fall of the spokes that designed to hold them. The best lesson I tought my 5 year old, since he would have a fit why his robot is...

Great quality parts, very easy to follow instructions (if you are used to knex, that is) and even a very nice carrying case (not just a big bucket, but one with dividers to keep things quasi-organized).

If you have a mechanically minded child, this is just the thing.

Highly recommended.

My grandson loves his new erector set, the plastic type. Hopefully it will last for his little brother, 4 months old, to grow up to use.

I bought this for my grandson who had requested it. It was the first toy he played with this Christmas. The erector set kept him busy for hours. with the clear instructions, he could do it himself. The hardest part is keeping his younger brother out of it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool but the price tag is high, August 5, 2010

I agree with the one-star reviewer on the screws slipping...they do, whatever you make will require tightening. I found that part of this toy frustrating. That's a con. The pro is that I found this at a thrift store for $5 no tax. So to me, this was worth the price tag LOL

Missing the motor though which will cost me about $30+ to replace if I can't find it cheaper.
