I bought this for my 9 year old nephew. He absolutely loved it. He told me how he was putting it together and that it was fun.

While my nephew and I had a great time putting it together, it got very frustrating when you couldn't follow the directions. Some things just didn't fit like the instructions said. There were simple ways around the issues, it was by no means worthy of return. Just remember to have fun, that these kinds of sets are designed to teach you to think about how things go together over all and not just how to follow directions! So a few problems every now and again shouldn't be a game changer. Unless the problems prevent you from enjoying your time with the product or each other.
He still plays with them and we had a good time building something together. Which is the main reason I purchased it in the first place.

I bought this in December 2009 for my son who was 4.5 yrs old at the time. I had already bought him the plastic set and I thought this may be just a change but equally fun. I helped him build it. Some of the pieces did not quite fit together because the pieces have to bend the right way. With some manipulation, it worked out in the end. The disappointing part is that some of the wheels rubbed on other pieces so never rolled when played with. Overall, for an older kid I think the building would be the fun part. But as far as a toy to be playing with, it does not deliver. The parts are metal so if they bend a lot, they do break..and we've broken a piece or two.
