As an electronics design engineer, I sit in front of the computer 8 hours a day, and have been doing so for the past 25 years. In recent months, I've been experiencing intense pain in my wrist, forearm, and elbow. Recently this has escalated to the point of barely being able to move the mouse without wincing in pain. The ErgoArm just arrived in the mail this morning - I set it up and have been using it for only a few hours now. What a difference! The ErgoArm is incredibly comfortable and all but eliminates the stress and pressure that I was applying to my wrist when using the mouse. It is highly versatile on where it can be mounted and how the arm rest can be positioned with respect to the mouse pad. Very small adjustments make a significant difference in how this device feels, and with a little fine-tuning of the position it is like finding the sweet spot on a high end stereo system. Wow! I wish I would have found this product a long time ago! It is very sturdy and well made - not cheap plastic junk.

I read the reviews on this item and decided to purchase it anyway. It was only 50 bucks, and if it worked then it would be worth it, I figured. I wasn't disappointed. This is a very nice item. I saw a lot of complaints that the armrest moves around. I think these people are missing the point. It's supposed to move. In fact, that's what makes it so nice. I've found myself leaving my mouse hand forearm in the rest even when I'm not using my mouse. It's that comfortable. It's like a chair armrest that floats, moving with you. The pad itself has different configurations too. The only fault I can find with this item, so far, is the little plastic inserts that come with it to cover the non-knob side of the adjustment pivots fit too loosely and fall out. Otherwise, I think this item is pure genius.

Update, 1/12/14 - I still enjoy this arm rest and mouse pad. I'm using it with a laptop, so it lines up very well on the desktop. It's very sturdy still and very comfortable.

Update 2/13/15 I still love this item. I spend a lot of time at my computer. No signs of wear that I can see. This really keeps me pain free. Well worth the cost.

The arm rest is designed with the following idea in mind: keyboard is used on the desktop.
For me, this isn't the case.
Because I would like to create more distance between my eyes and monitors, I installed a keyboard tray under my desk. The keyboard tray is fine for typing, but if I use its side-attached mouse platform, due to level principle of physics, my hand would exerts too much torque on one end of the tray and cause it to slightly shake/wobble everytime I lift/drop my mouse-holding hand.
I used to have a clamp-on-table mouse platform that kind of levels with keyboard tray, but it is too small and my mouse would keep on hitting at the side of clamp. On the other hand, using mouse on table would cause great stress on my right shoulder because my right arm would need to extend further.
So I gave this product a try.
Build quality is great. The mouse platform it provides is stably attached to the arm rest. The mechanism to adjust arm angles are also well designed. Unfortunately, the mouse platform is slightly above desktop. With my keyboard under the desk and the mouse above it, it creates a great enough difference of elevation to force my right shoulder raising up uncomfortably and cause additional shoulder stress -- in a different way than using mouse on desktop.

Very well made. I use it with a chair with adjustable armrests, right side lowered to make room for swinging. If you spend long hours at your desktop and experience shoulder/upper back pain, you should try this. I have been using it for about eight months, free of crippling pain. Can't do without!

I like having the ability to adjust the arm rest in two different places to ensure maximum comfort to your arm and therefore shoulders. Wish the actual piece you rest your arm in was a tad bigger, and that the edges of the mouse pad were softer. As it stands now, in order for my arm to be the the most comfortable, I had to adjust the arm rest to be a tad lower than the mouse pad... the hard edges of the mouse pad can get a bit uncomfortable on my wrist, and so I end up adjusting the arm rest up to make everything flush... but then my arm feels like bit of strain, so I adjust down again etc... etc... I'm still playing around with this to find the most comfortable spot. I would recommend placing a piece of rubber or foam or something around the edge of the mouse pad part so that both wrist and arm can be comfortable. Extremely easy to put together and adjust. Seems well made.

It almost move alone with your arm, so soft, comfy and adjustable, the material is not heavy but good enough to hold your arm. Have travelled with it in my luggage and nothing hv happened, i couldn't believe it would work fine for me as i hv tendinitis, but it does.

This was easy to put on my desk and It was nice to have something to rest my weak arm on finally. I am glad it also comes with a mouse pad because the two work together. It was a good purchase I was glad to make.

I agree with a previous reviewer. I also found that the support device is not held to the position that you set it at, because it pivots in two places. I tried and tried, spending a great deal of time trying to adjust it into a position that was beneficial. The device would just move out of position as soon as I would lift my arm away from it in order to use the keyboard. Then I would be reaching my left hand across to move it back into position so I could rest my right arm against it. Too much time was wasted doing this, which outweighed any benefit that I might have received when it was supporting my arm as desired. Also found that it was very difficult to pack it back away in the box for return. I didn't have a problem getting a refund, although I had to pay for return shipping, which took a big bite out of the refund that I received. It's a shame because as other reviewers noted, the item is solidly constructed. It adjusts in many different ways, to many angles and therefore to many different users. This company has tried to deliver a quality product but for me it missed the mark.
