I love these handle grips! My brother and I have racked up hundreds of miles of hard trails on three mountain bikes equipped with these. We ride regularly at the local mountain bike trails on everything from the novice to the pro trails.

These grips work perfectly on the trails or the street. They give your hand more surface area to grip as well as reduce stress on the wrists. Once properly installed, they don't move or rotate, giving superior control and comfort.

There aren't any drawbacks that I can think of other than weight. However, they're not particularly heavy, but if you're 'that guy' that's concerned about cutting every gram out of a bike's weight, shop elsewhere as there are lighter alternatives.

Large provides more surface area for the palms. The Large and Small are the exact same length as i've ordered both. The L is only thicker and wider not longer (some wonder). These are sooo much better than standard grips; it was torture before. Now after getting a more comfortable seat my rides are pain free.

I chose the size small and fit perfect. They keep my wrists at a more natural angle, thus reducing the discomfort caused by long Urban, or MTB rides. The grip material is just right, not too hard or too soft. I'm glad I made the switch to Ergon! I definitely recommend if your wrists tend to tire after long rides.

Unfortunately, what I received from Amazon was the incorrect model, and had to return it. But, I found the GP1 locally, for less than Amazon's price, and have been using them for a few weeks now. Prior to these grips, I was getting numb in my ring and pinky fingers on both hands, far worse on my left (as I still have lingering nerve damage from a 2007 injury). The grips themselves were easy enough to install, but as of yet I have not installed the end caps, as they are way too snug for the (standard sized) handlebar and don't even go in all the way. I am leaving them off for the time being, while I decide on a bike mirror. But still, these could be easier to work with.

Adjusting the correct angle takes some trial and error, and even now I am not sure I have it done right. I now get numbness in the thumbs rather than the other fingers. Yet, my wrists are now at a more correct angle, and overall it is a more comfortable riding experience with these grips. I ordered the large size due to long fingers--I'm one of those that has trouble finding even extra large gloves never fit me properly.

Overall I am glad I invested in these grips, and am looking at getting another set (in small) for another bike in the family.

Mounting tip: there are two size options, small and large. Also, make very certain you select the correct model. In the GP1, there are three different shifter choices. The Regular model fits trigger shifters. The GripShift fits grip shifters. There is a third model (the one Amazon sent incorrectly) for a Rohloff® / Nexus® shifter setup. For grip shifters, however, you may or may not be able to use these grips without changing out the shifters. One of the family bikes is a Giant Sedona, which utilizes a wide SRAM grip shifter.

Love being able to adjust position easily to find the right fit. Seems like I have better control of the handle bars.

I have a couple pairs of these. The other pair is the cork based one with the integrated bar end. On both I love that I can get a grip sized to my small hands and the shape of the grip really works for me to reduce numbness in my hands and pain in my wrists. I like this pair with the black and gray rubber better than the cork ones. The rubber feels stickier than the cork and just in general more comfortable to me. I also like having the grip separate from the bar end. Gives me more options and since these are on a bike set up for touring I can also use the ID of my handlebar to mount a mirror. I will purchase these again or transfer them if I replace either of my bikes.

Completely worth the price. I got 2 sets, one set for me and one for my wife.
My hands are 8" (tip of middle finger to wrist) by 4.25" (widest across palm near wrist) and the small size is perfect for me.
I like that they have a bit of shock absorption due to the material flex since most of your weight ends up on the flat pad portion. Most of my riding is on road but I enjoy taking the mountain bike off road when I can; I don't even notice that these are 'comfort' grips--plenty of control and feedback. I also like that they have the screw-tighten to hold them in place instead of relying on friction.

Buy these. Now.

Well worth the price. I got the small size for my large hands. On the road I might like them a little bigger, but for off-road they are a great compromise between comfort and control. In any case, they sure beat circular grips. They have made me aware of how I tend to shift my hands off center. For me, the clamp is is a must-have feature for teardrop shape grips, because there is no way I will get them angled right on the first try. I torqued them to only 4 Nm vs the spec value of 5 NM and they seem to be holding. They took exactly 130mm of bar space.
