Do just what they are supposed to - give some relief to hands and forearms. As many others have suggested, take an allen key on your first ride and keep moving them around before torqueing up when you get home. Set up was a little counter intuitive at first - I kept raising the angle of the palm support, but ended being most comfortable around 20 degrees from level

I had just gotten a new mountain bike and the original grips were a little thin, causing my hands to ache on longer rides. I chose the GX1 grips because Amazon had them in stock at the time, and they were about the same price as the GP1 grips that everyone else was selling.Easy to install. It took a few rides to get them positioned to the best place, but the comfort is now much better. I'm still having some issues with my hands going numb, but that is improving as I get more riding time.

Better Grip, Less Fatigue,

This review is from: Ergon GX1 Grips (Sports)
Although I am new to mountain biking, I wanted to get some better grips for my bike than the cheap ones it came with. The GX1 were the answer. Smaller than the GP1s, these provide outstanding comfort without losing any grip. I don't aspire to ridiculous jumps or freestyle riding where I need to possibly grab my handlebars upside down, therefore, the fixed position grip (minor hand adjustments can be made, but nothing radical) keeps my hands firmly planted on the handlebars while reducing the pressure and strain of my fingers, allowing a beginner like me to ride for hours without feeling worn out or losing feeling in my hands. Before purchasing these, I spoke with many bikers and those that had heard of these grips, always recommended. Now I am recommending them to you. If you are unsure, read more about them at Ergon's website. Obviously more expensive than the cheap grips you may find elsewhere, I would almost be willing to spend twice as much for these... almost ;)
