Keep your mouse handy,

I've had this product for about four months now. I use it with a October-2009-release iMac running Snow Leopard, my previous computer having been a G4 PowerBook.
First, don't waste your money on the clip that supposedly attaches it to your keyboard. Even the one for the newer Mac keyboards doesn't work (the clip slides back at any pressure on the trackpad), and I had to tape mine in place with duct tape. The good stuff: the trackpad is small and can be placed very close to your keyboard. Clicking and scrolling are good, although not great. It does install supereasy. The bad stuff: Having no drivers means you have no software control over how sensitive the touchpad is, and as it comes, it is MUCH too sensitive. I am always double-clicking when I mean a single click, dragging when I don't mean to, etc. I'd like to be able to turn off the "right click" feature (clicking in the upper right corner = right clicking): the worst thing about it is that it right clicks when I'm trying to scroll, but I frequently stray too far to the right and right click when I mean regular clicking. I've gotten better on keyboard shortcuts just to avoid the worry on some tasks. The really bad stuff: The click and drag simply does not work, at least not when I mean it to. I was always ending up with things dropped in the wrong place; text selections either refused to end or double-clicked at the end, deselecting the text. As I said, I am always picking up and dragging things when I don't mean to. I always use my mouse for drag and drop. Some things (like taking a screen capture of a portion of the screen) are just impossible without turning to the mouse. I wish the trackpad had a button or two, but I grant I wouldn't be willing to go up to something that took up a lot more desktop space to get them. So the short version is that it is OK. It doesn't replace the touchpad on the PowerBook. I feel the loss of mouse buttons. It does for most cursor-control tasks, so long as you keep your regular mouse handy for the more demanding ones.

This touchpad works. Plug it in, it does what it is supposed to do. Smooth tracking, great "click" (tap) recognition and scrolling. The right click in the upper corner took me a couple of days to get used to, but it works just fine.
As someone who suffers from RSI that is often aggravated by most mice and trackpads - even 'ergonomic' ones, this is a great help because it can easily be moved around for use with either hand and can be used at any angle (I like to hold it in one palm and track with the opposite hand). The construction is a bit on the cheap side, but that wasn't surprising considering the price. It really works better than I expected. when I picked this up I also bought a bluetooth trackball/mouse that was nearly 3 times the price of this and I've gotta say... this thing has much better tracking and control than that name brand product. I would especially recommend this for anyone who suffers from computer related RSI. One of the best things you can do to alleviate the constant pain (aside from trigger point therapy) is to regularly alternate your input device (ie switching from mouse to trackpad, swapping hands or fingers or using even your feet to click). I only wish they offered a wireless version!

Works, but not accurate enough,

This Ergonomic Touchpad works as expected.
However, it is not very accurate so it is very hard to point the mouse pointer exactly where you want. In addition to that this Ergonomic Touchpad is way too expensive. That is why I gave it only 2 stars.

The touchpad works as expected and claimed. The basic functionality (move cursor, scroll, right click, drag) worked out of the box without drivers both in Windows XP and Linux (Debian Squeeze).
I purchased this to attempt to alleviate shoulder pain at work. I stuck it (with the supplied velcro) on my keyboard tray between the two halves of my split keyboard. Either hand can now use it, and it is centered and in close to my body, allowing my hands and arms to remain in a neutral position. It has helped more than anything else I've tried. I have a large monitor at work, so I had considered spending more for the larger version. I'm glad I didn't. The small one is perfectly adequate, especially if you set mouse acceleration using the driver. The driver provides more customization options, including a few different scrolling options, many options for the upper-right-corner tap (which is right-click by default) and two- and three-finger gestures, as will as pinch zooming. All worked for me except three-finger flick (never got it to respond). Unfortunatly, the device doesn't really have much of a housing. You'd expect a plastic cover on the back to cover the electronic guts of the thing. Not so. The back cover is merely a piece of velcro stuck (with glue) over the top of the electronics. It was peeling back a bit on one edge of mine and I could see the parts underneath the velcro. Poor execution! When you go to the "manufacturer's" site to get the driver, it actually directs you to the site of a competitor to download and use THEIR driver! This makes me think that their touchpad is just an Addesso Easy Cat, minus the housing, plus one piece of velcro slapped on the back. Hopefully this thing will hold up without a housing. Would have been 4 stars based on functionality/performance, dropped it to 2 for being put together in such a hack way.

I have a laptop and my touchpad stopped working and I didn't want to use a mouse. I saw this proudct and thought it would be a perfect cheap way to replace my touchpad.
I am pretty happy with the product, it just like the video review. My only issue is that the usb wire is too long and it sticks out of my computer. They should have a laptop and desktop version. Also I couldn't find the company's web site for some reason. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Fantastic product! I purchased the ergonomic touchpad and plugged it in and it started working right away. It is much more accurate and precise than my notebook touchpad or using a mouse. It was the best priced touchpad I found and I purchased 2 more for my office computers. [...]

It's just difficult to use because it wobbles a little on the velcro base. Needed something more solid.
