I have used this monitor stand for over a year now and found it to do the job it was designed for very well. One thing that Amazon specs do not tell you is that the stand is actually designed to only accommodate LCD monitors whose outside width is 20" (51 cm) or less according to the manufacture.

Bought this stand because of a feedback that someone had written saying he mounted 3 24" monitors on it which is not possible. In all fairnesss the manufactures does list thes size monitors it does support. You have to buy the longer arm which is an additional $150 to be able to mount them. Ergotron does make another stand that will allow you to mount 3 24" monitors. Besides that fact, it is a good stand with good build quality. I wish I would have done more research before buying this stand so that I would have matched the size monitors to what I planned on mounting on the stand, I would have saved some money.

I have three 20.1" UXGA monitors on this stand, and I am disappointed. The outside left and right screens droop a bit, and I believe its due to the design of this stand. The two extension arms that the outer monitors mount to have a little too much 'wiggle' room, so the outer mounts start off a few millimeters lower than the center, and there is no adjustment available to correct for this. Then, the mounts themselves seem somehow shoddy so that the out monitors just don't stay at the same angle as the center monitor. It is impossible to get three monitors to line up even pretty closely, I'm not even looking for perfection here. The entire thing is extremely frustrating and disappointing in a product this expensive from a good manufacturer.

Another negative is that the 14" pole is just not high enough. I ordered the extension pole (+$$) just to bring it up to working eye level.

On the plus side, the manufacturing quality is outstanding, the machining and materials are very good.

I trade securities for a living and have a number of trading workstations set up in my home. This is the 4th Ergotron stand I have purchased over the years, and it will be my last. They have made design changes to the stands within the last couple of years. The newest designs have two major flaws from older ergotron stands I own: 1. The mounts have been redesigned. The old mounts allowed for both vertical or horizontal adjustment of individual monitors. The new mounts either allow for no vertical, and force you into a 4 degree tilt horizontal on the outer mounts. Or, you can reverse that effect if desired by electing a 4 degree tilt up or down vertically, with no tilt horizontally. But either way, these are not desirable choices for me. AND 2. The arms are of lower quality and can not support the weight of even the lightest monitors, causing the monitors on the end to droop. The net result of these two issues is the the center monitor looks ok, but the outer two monitors are tilting and drooping down, causing you to read text at a slant. In addition, there is another issue that bugs me about all my ergotron stands. The base is massive, large footprint on the desktop. You'd think they'd design it in such a manner that it would be convenient to sit things on the base. But, no. They make it a curved shape which renders that space on your desktop near worthless. These issues are absolutely maddening. I am extremely upset with Ergotron. They have taken an unbelievably arrogant approach to product design, giving the user minimal flexibility in how they want to view their monitors. Instead, dictating to their customer how the stands are to be used. I could live with the base, although it perturbs me greatly. But the changes they have made to the arm and mounts are horrid.Read more ›
