These cards are so easy for my 2 (almost 3) year old and they love the beautiful Eric Carle artwork.

This is one of the items that we always pack into our 2 year old's bag when we go to church. She sits QUIETLY for about 1/2 hour while she does her lacing. The cards are very sturdy and lightly laminated so there is less risk of tearing, and somewhat water resistant. The packaging keeps it all together in the little box, making it easy to travel with. Good gift idea for a 2 - 3 year old.

I took this box with 10 cards and 10 laces to a religous gathering where kids had to sit quietly. to my surprise this was such a hit that not only my four age son and 16 months daughter enjoyed doing it but other kids ages from 4,5,6 and 7 years old pick up those cards from me and start lacing it. Age four do need help to get the conncept down but age six were doing it all by them self and once they will finish with one card they would want to get any other card so they can do a different design. A MUST HAVE. I'M BUYING MORE TO GIVE AS A GIFT. Perfect gift for BOYS AND GIRLS.

My kids are loving these during church when they need a quiet activity that keeps them thinking and occupied. My seven-year-old boy and my two-year-old girl both enjoy lacing them.

These cards are very thick cardboard and very sturdy. They come with 10 colored strings. What is amazing abut these cards is the depth of learning in them. The lines the child stitches actually are meaningful and teach science. The seahorse is swimming, the octopus is squirting ink, the caterpillar inches across the page, the rooster gets a longer tail, the lady bug gives the hint that wings come out, the kangaroo is jumping, the chameleon's tongue gets longer, the gorilla appears to have swung down from the trees and is about to walk on all fours, and the sloth is given more vines to climb on. There is only one card where the lines are not as meaningful: the brown bear is merely encircled. This however is not a bad thing as the bear is watching something and not actually moving (note that the image from the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?"). All of the cards fit back into the case and can be stored in it, but there is a "sharp" edge on one side so the case should be handled by an adult. I liked all the art, the animals were very expressive and interesting, except for the chameleon. The chameleon was rather ugly and not the quality of the other images. This was a GREAT purchase. I highly recommend it.

I bought these cards for my 3 year old son and he loves to use the laces in the cards. I love how colorful the cards are and the wonderful artwork on them. He loves that he knows the characters from his favorite Eric Carle books. Also they are made out of very sturdy material and easy for him to do by himself.

Beautiful colors, beautiful artwork, and much more creative than just following an outline. For an older child, teach them chain stitch, back stich, alternating colors... kind of pre embroidery!

Very durable. My daughter is 5 and her little sister is 22 months and they look brand new. Best lacing cards on the market.

Update 8/24/2012: My daughter is nearly 7 and her little sister is 3 - would you believe they are still in fantastic shape? The only thing I wish for is a better box to keep it in but the cards are perfect and the strings have kept their color and are not frayed. It's a great birthday gift for a boy or a girl!
