Of course, these Eric Carle books are gems. Each story is fun because they are interactive. Lights flash at the end of Very Lonely Firefly, and the intricate paging of Very Hungry Caterpillar are great for baby and toddler fingers. But try and buy these seperately, and I'm telling you that you just can not beat the price of this boxed set. It is a great, great, deal. This makes a perfect gift for a baby shower, or birthday. Since the books are the board edition you know that they will last a while too.

My little guy loves these books. He chews, drools and yanks on the pages and the books are unaffected.

This is a good set. My kids (under 5) already loved the Very Hungry Catepillar and now they won't stop having us read the other two. Each one is unique. The Catepillar book shows everything a caterpillar has eaten, the Spider book lets you feel the fuzzy spider webs, and the firefly book lights up at night. Great fun.

I didn't actually see the boxed book set, but I heard from my friend and she loved it! She'd heard great things about the series for children and asked for it specifically. So, for speedy delivery and for my friend's happiness with the product, I'm giving this purchase a good review. Thanks a lot!

I'm a second grade teacher. This is my favorite children's author, and it's rare to find this set in a bookstore. While these are board books with great artwork by the author, perfect for very young children, the kids will keep loving them well into their school years. And as they grow, there is more in the books for them: They include skills to learn like counting, reading a clock face, knowing colors, understanding metamorphosis (a standard for 1st or 2nd grade, depending on your state), and they are just FULL of morals. If you like these, you should also search out The Very Grouchy Ladybug, The Mixed Up Chameleon (camouflage is also a main theme for many second grade curricula), and A House for Hermit Crab, among others by Eric Carle. I highly recommend this author!

I really like reading these 3 books to my kids and when I saw the board books, I had to get them! I love the overall durability, and the little features in each book (raised ink in the very busy spider to feel the spider, the web, and the fly; the holes in a very hungry caterpillar, and the blinking lights in a very lonely firefly). My only disappointment was that the batteries in A Very Lonely Firefly were not working when we got the book. It took some time to find a battery store with the right size and when I was finally able to replace the batteries, they didn't last long at all. The books though are awesome and perfect for toddlers/kids.

I've always loved giving books as baby gifts, and I LOVE this boxed set. This is a gift that baby doesn't outgrow quickly, and Mom and Dad can enjoy it, too. It's my new favorite baby gift to give.

Great little set of three very cute and classic books. The books are high quality boardbooks that instantly became favorites with my 22 month old daughter. Great value and price on Amazon too.

I have several small board books of 'favourite words' taken from Eric Carle's Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider. I was very impressed with those little board books, I love the bright and fun colors, and my son loves it too. Thus I decided to buy this box set of the original stories. The Caterpillar and Spider is great. But I must say that I'm a little disappointed with The Very Lonely Firefly. The colors quite dard and not very interesting. It's like completely different concept from the other two books. But there is a 'surprise' at the very end of the book and I guess that compensate it. Nevertheless my son loves it, and I guess that's all that matters.

I had MANY Eric Carle books for my kids when they were little. I loved all of them but more importantly they loved all of them. I bought this set for a friend's child feeling all children should experience these books. You cannot go wrong with Eric Carle.
