This review is from: Eric Clapton - The Bluesman (Paperback)
The Bluesman is a great compilation of music from Eric Clapton assembled by Andy Aledort. Much of the music is from his earlier days so ignores more timely titles, but is an in depth look at the early blues oriented style Clapton started with.
I can't understand why Hal Leonard discontinued this package unless there may have been a plan to convert the included CD to DVD, and the plan was abandoned before implementation. As it is, the tabs are clearly written, accurate: almost painfully so: and the CD tracks are perfect. Each title is broken into segments, with each segment played at normal speed and again at a much slower tempo. This makes it easy to follow the tab, or to play note for note with the track. In closing: The Bluesman is a terrific product for learning the blues style of one of popular music's most influential artists. I only wish Hal Leonard Corp. would produce it with an accompanying DVD so I could purchase that as well. |
