Book Description

September 1, 1998 10 and up Christian Heroes, Then & Now
Eric's refusal earlier that week to run on Sunday in the Olympic 100-meter race had stunned the world. Now his incredible victory in the 400-meter race further strengthened his belief in God's promise, "He who honors Me, I will honor."
Years later, Eric Liddell would be tested far beyond mere physical ability as a missionary to China. His characterm, perseverance, and endurance are a challenging example for all who would obey the call to bring the gospel to the nations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational Reading!! September 20, 2003
Format:Paperback
I read the Eric Liddle story (Chariot's of Fire hero) and all the other books in this series this summer. I can't begin to tell you how inspirational the lives of these people are. The one on Gladys Allward is unbelievable. The things these people accomplished were amazing. The books are easy, quick reads and are great for read alouds to children. These authors also have a series of biographies of famous Americans (George Washington, Harriett Tubman, etc that are excellent. Good job Amazon for placing this book up on the web page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great YWAM book June 16, 2011
By Veritas
Format:Paperback
This is the true story of Eric Liddell who was made famous in the film Chariots of Fire, about his running in the Olympics and winning a gold medal. The film has many inaccuracies, but the book is wonderful. Liddell died in a concentration camp in China (brain tumor) during WWII while serving as a missionary. This is a children's book, but I enjoyed it as light reading one afternoon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eric Liddell June 14, 2011
A Kid's Review
Format:Paperback
This is by far the best non-fiction book I have read. There is a lot of information in here, but its not cluttered and the authors wright things easy to understand. I thought the story was a little sad, but not as sad as Christian Heroes: Then & Now C.S. Lewis. This Eric Liddell book, will make you realize how "lucky" you are. I would read this book if I were you.
