About the Brand

In 1994 in the Pacific Northwest, the concept for Baker's Breakfast Cookies was born: an all-natural, healthy, and delicious food for people on the run. It started when Erin Baker rented the local 4-H kitchen at the fairgrounds to bake. She purchased her first mixer, a KitchenAid, and began mixing 24 cookies at a time. Her first accounts were Star Store & Mercantile, Mukilteo Coffee, and Whidbey Coffee, but soon she realized she needed more production space and accounts. "Bellingham seemed like just the place to be," Baker says. "I moved BBC and myself in 1996. I acquired enough accounts to quit my second job and focus on Baker’s Breakfast Cookies." A year later, she had gotten her own space, upgraded to a 60-quart Hobart mixer, and hired her first employee.

She took Baker's Breakfast Cookies to all the major trade shows and to hundreds of races and other athletic events. Soon, her cookies were being distributed nationwide and growing in popularity, especially with athletes. Today, Baker's Breakfast cookies has more space and more employees, but remains committed to fitness, especially to those always "on the run."

Why are they called Breakfast Cookies?
Baker's Breakfast Cookies are oatmeal-based and were originally created for those people who didn’t have time to eat breakfast. They are all-natural and a balanced source of complex carbohydrates, protein, fat, and fiber providing you with a healthy and convenient alternative to other breakfast foods. These cookies will supply you with long-lasting energy and satisfy your hunger for hours. Although it is called a breakfast cookie, it can be eaten any time of the day!

About the Brand: I started baking and selling cookies at 9 years old and loved it so much I decided to make it my life’s work and yes my last name really is "Baker"! It all began in 1994 when I rented the 4-H kitchen at the Whidbey Island Fairgrounds to bake my way to a better life. Inspired by my mom’s healthy baking and armed with a KitchenAid mixer, I created a revolutionary new way to serve breakfast the Breakfast Cookie was born! For the last 17 years, oats, fruit & honey have been the staple ingredients in my bakery, making us unique in our efforts to provide healthier food products. I take great pride in baking products with whole food ingredients which provide sustained energy and optimal nutrition. Over the years I have created many wonderful recipes to share with my loyal following. My Breakfast Cookies, Homestyle Granola, Breakfast Cookie Minis and Organic Brownie Bites are handcrafted and baked to order, promising homemade freshness and flavor. Simple, wholesome baking principles inspired me when I was a little girl. They still make perfect sense now that I am grown up! Bake with purpose, bake fresh to order, bake with healthy and wholesome ingredients. It’s that simple. Erin Baker, Founder.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice change from breakfast bars, June 26, 2006

I bought these on a whim, and they're pretty good. There's no mistaking them for a dessert cookie, but they are moist and taste good. They taste a lot like a really good bran muffin, but with a more dense texture. My kids won't eat them, but that leaves more for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars much better than I expected, September 8, 2010

This review is from: Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies, Fruit & Nut, 3-Ounce Individually Wrapped Cookies (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
I ordered Erin Baker's fruit & nut cookies at a discounted price because Amazon said the item was near its sell-by date. I was nervous about doing so -- afraid I might have to scarf down a dozen cookies all at once because they were about to expire. But the cookies arrived at the beginning of September, and the expiration date isn't until Nov. 11. Plenty of time, especially since these cookies taste so good, they won't last long!
I haven't tried any other Erin Baker cookies, but I definitely recommend the Fruit & Nut flavor. They have a spicy aroma and a chewy, moist texture, with just the right amount of tender fruit. The density reminds me somewhat of an Odwalla bar, but without the overpowering soy taste of an Odwalla.
These cookies can serve as a meal replacement. They are filling, and with more nutrition than you might think (6 grams of protein). The only reason I didn't give these cookies five stars is that they're a bit higher in calories (290) than a typical granola bar or protein bar. But taste-wise, they're just about perfect.
