Do you balance your checkbook religiously? Are you planning well for retirement? Do you want to know if you should lease or buy a car? Worried about college expenses for your children? If the answer is yes to these questions, then this CD-ROM on financial planning is just the disc for you...or maybe not. If you are already organized financially, then perhaps you do not need this. If you are not organized, then you just might find all the calculations necessary a royal pain and prefer to rely on the advice (and skills) of an expert. Bottom Line: Our take is that personal choice rules here. We suspect this disc will appeal to the type of person who banks by mail. For others, perhaps more valuable is the book Ernst & Young's Total Financial Planner (Wiley, 1996), which can be purchased with the CD-ROM and offers solid financial background. For the unorganized (mea culpa), be warned that some paperwork preparation is required before you begin filling out the various forms on the CD-ROM. Recommended for home collections only.

This book starts off with the basics but then goes into the details of each subject. It goes well beyond the other books which usually say to do or not do something but does not go into the details of why. I hightly recommended this book.
