My husband and I did not bother finishing this book. We skipped around to different chapters, as the editors suggest, in hopes of finding something erotic. The editors clearly had lofty aspirations for this book, but their intentions fell short of what they managed to achieve. Unfortunately, most of the stories were poorly written and laughably ridiculous; a bad combination. You can get mediocre erotica on the 'net for free. Don't waste your money.

This book is midly amusing and not at all sexy. It contains lines such as "Hi my name is Bob and I will be picking your pubic hair out of the filter..." I couldn't even begin to enjoy it.

We found the stories a joke. Lisa and I LOL ed at the ha haaaa, see, twist in the 5 or 6 stories we read. I believe a person could buy any of the romance novels at the supermarket and get the same thing.

I found this book to be somewhat erotic although I've read better stories in the past.. My boyfriend did enjoy me reading it to him and he got pretty aroused by it..

We had a really good time with this last weekend! Blindfold + Erotic Edge on audio = FUN! Erotic audio is becoming a little bit of a fetish with me (my husband doesn't seem to mind). The Erotic Edge audio is very well done, readers seem really into it, and the stories are imaginitive and sexy. I reccommend it. If you like this one, you should also check out the Herotica series on audio, too.

First of all, I was surprised that, despite the fact that these stories are supposed to be for couples, several or more of the stories involve cheating. Erotic cheating.

If you are trying to set the romantic mood, say on Valentine's Day or something, with your monogamous partner, it is extremely awkward when so-and-so cheats on her husband with some young, passionate artist, and they have amazing sex that she never had with her husband.

I think the title should have been "22 Erotic Stories ABOUT couples," because I do not see how this works FOR couples.

Otherwise, the writing is not bad, and not too cliche--for the most part.

I don't know who this book is for, but the stories are NOT erotic at all. The first story is the story of a woman escaping from her cocaine-addicted, abusive husband. A ghost seduces her, but the sex scenes are three-sentence paragraphs, and the most explicit thing is the phrase "hot center." Is this a joke? I figured that was an exception, so I kept reading: the second story was the story of a woman who prepares a lot to see her boyfriend and then is disappointed that they don't have sex. You read it right: they DON'T have sex. It's basically a story of a woman shaving her legs and curling her hair. Are you hot yet?

The rest of the book was more of the same. This disappointed me, because in the introduction the editor says "too many erotic stories are objectifying, violent," etc. And then she chose stories that are not about sex, but are about either total turn-offs or completely mundane things. What gives? They say these stories are for couples, or for women, but I've never had a woman friend, girlfriend, or my wife say "I read this really great story about a couple discussing their boring pasts and I got so hot I had to change my panties."

I don't know who enjoys this sort of "erotica," but it was disappointing to find another book that doesn't live up to its description. For once I'd like to read a story that is just about two people who love each other getting it on.

These stories as a collection, whilst well written, are quite long and not what you would call light quick reading. As a shared reading experience with my partner it was quite cumbersome.

This is a difficult review. I find that every story in this book-I really like! There is one that I will share that lends credence to "Be careful what you ask for.." It is about a husband/wife where he wants to explore swapping. She doesn't but caves in-in the end she leaves because the experience turned her upside down! Now he is left alone... Many of the stories make you think even after being aroused by them! Excellent collection, very sophisticated! ed saunders

This is a delicious book for those who savor or those who want to try reading erotic short stories. I will check out Barbach's other books with hopes they are as pleasurable.
