Nice music, but not what is advertised,

Erotic Lounge: They're half right. It's lounge music, but I wouldn't describe it as erotic. This is a nice collection of mostly instrumental, jazzy lounge music. The only problem is that they've packaged it is as being sensual and erotic. One disc is called Quick and Dirty, while the other is Slow and Lazy. Combine this with the softcore pic on the cover of a lady's legs, high heels and undies coming off, and the message is clear. But when I put the CDs in, it just seemed like your average lounge music with lots of drum machine and synthesizer tracks. And the Quick and Dirty disc is neither quick or dirty. I wouldn't call it sexually charged at all.
It's a nice collection of mostly instrumental music, but was packaged and marketed incorrectly in my opinion.

Erotic Lounge Definitely Delivers the Lounge ... Other Part of Title Up to You :-),
By KC "metroxing" (Northern CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Erotic Lounge, Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
"Lounge" is a term often over-used in compilations these days. Some people wil slap that label on anything with a beat (that's not hard trance) or anything remotely soft (New Age/meditative or World music is NOT necessarily 'lounge' or 'chill.')
But in the case of this collection - they actually have labeled and named it correctly! As for the "Erotic" portion, these CD's will definitely help with the right person(s) in the room ... just like listening to Barry White by yourself - in a blizzard - inside a Greyhound bus station in Fairbank, Alaska may not help you much, these CD's deliver on the promise of great 'lounge' music - the rest is up to you :-) There are four in the series so far. They are all excellent with only a few tracks not up to par on each set so you can't really go wrong but there are differences. EROTIC LOUNGE: The first is the softest of them all with lots of minimalist lounge. A perfect CD to end your evening or the first CD in the morning. EROTIC LOUNGE - DELUXE EDITION: It's exactly what a 'lounge' CD should be - full of chill beats backed by light jazz beats or bossa nova-like beats. If anyone wants to know what 'lounge' should sound like - this CD pretty much encapsulates what it should be. EROTIC LOUNGE - SENSUAL PASSION: Along with great 'lounge' tracks, they pick up a beat a bit with tracks that go into trance chill or trip hop - again, all tasteful, fun and aptly cool. On the slightly exotica tracks, they veer from bossa nova to light samba. EROTIC LOUNGE - BARE JEWELS: This is the least lounge of the collection with most tracks really more trip hop, light trance or melodic acid jazz - nothing wrong with - still a great collection of tracks - just so you know exactly what you're getting. So whatever the mood you want to set - from 'lounge' where you can easily converse over the instrumental tracks to tracks that will get you in the mood for a fun samba or tracks to lead to you to the bedroom - they're all here. Pick and choose or get them all - you can't go wrong with this series, so far, they're all great. And hey, the CD cover alone is worth a star :-)

good, but not exactly what I call erotic,

I agree with Samuel. It's nice lounge music, but doesn't create the mood you imagine lookin gat the cover. too many synthesizer/dance beat tracks. Nusound does a better job delivering the erotic lounge music

Cover Better Than the Album,

This review is from: Erotic Lounge, Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
This is actually a great collection, good for driving at night with the windows down on a dark street, or background music for chilling with friends at a dinner party, or something to that effect. If you want erotic and you like this type of music, then you need to be checking out the synthlounge/trip-hop-esque wonder of Lovage's 'Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady by'. THAT is erotic lounge!!

Don't worry too much about the cheesy cover art. The mix is a fine mix of some well-known and some obscure lounge tracks. Very pleasant throughout.

GREAT MUSIC, but CONFUSING titles,

The music across the entire "Erotic Lounge" series is great. They are CDs you can pop in and let play all day long to soothe and relax you. The main problem with these sets are that the manufacturers MISLABELED the covers and releases. I've literally seen the exact same covers with DIFFERENT text on them in different places. On one instance, it says Erotic Lounge 2... then the EXACT same pic/cover said Erotic Lounge Deluxe Edition. And I have YET to see a cover that ACTUALLY had the number 3 on it. So, it's hard to tell which volume is ACTUALLY Vol. 3

There are two versions of this cd-the original Erotic Lounge Vol1 UPC 509975109002 which includes Thievery Corporation-Until The Morning and the later version just Erotic Lounge (same cover but vastly different tracklisting-no Until The Morning) UPC 5099751090021.I've contacted Amazon on this but the tracklisting listed here on the site hasn't been corrected and I've contacted Amazon retailers before purchasing to make sure I'm getting the original tracklisting to no avail, most need to (but won't check what cd version it is before they send it to you)

Okay, I'll admit that the cover art on these CD's is what caught my eye first. I resisted the urge to purchase because for me, when I buy something for the cover I'm usually disappointed in the content......not so with this the first volume of the Erotic Lounge series. I found this to be really good mood music, sets the mood and then keeps it there.
For me CD 1 is the best of the 2 CD's. It opens with the track Honey and the sweet relaxing mood is set. I thought all the tracks on this side were excellent and kept with the slow, sexy mood. The one that stays in my head long after I've heard it is "Is anybody there?".....haunting. For me the second CD was not quite up to the first CD. The tempo picks up and the mood was changed. Still good stuff and I still recommend the purchase. I'll definently be buying the other volumes........not for just the cover art this time....although..........

Nothing erotic, so don't try to get into mood with it.
Just lounge music, relaxing sounds, soft voices.

The problem with the Erotic Lounge series is that these CDs are expensive. I have number 5 and I like it. But this one does not hold my attention. I find most of the tracks to be flat and boring.
