This album, along with Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works Vol. II", defines the term "ambient" for me. The sounds are sparse, pure, and transport the listener to a vast, unearthly world, a world that is strange, inhuman, and hauntingly beautiful, a world that one feels one might easily get lost in, never to return. It simply does not get any better than this.
