Manara Tarot,
By "deneb829" (Los Angles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Erotic Tarot of Manara (Cards)
While the images are stunning, they do not seem to match the astrological meanings of cards. Like in the Thoth Deck, each card in the Manara Tarot has an astrological association printed on the card. For example, the 4 of water has the astrological symbol of moon in cancer. Moon in cancer relates to depth and intensity of emotion, home, and domestic security - the image of this card show a woman in a stream with a water bucket being startled by indians (native americans). Most cards in this deck are off like this and tying the meaning into the picture is a strecth at best. These astrological symbols are more in line with the traditional meanings of the tarot cards despite the images. I do like the use of the elements as the suits; this deck had so much potential, but it seems that little care or effort went into making it usable as an indepth study into tarot using sexual symbolism (which is why I bought this deck). If you're a collector of tarot decks and want something different, this is a good deck - if you're looking for a usable tarot deck with sexual symbols and archetypes, pass.

Erotic? Yes and No,
By Mistress Star "starr_child" (San Diego, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Erotic Tarot of Manara (Cards)
This unique deck contains a variety of erotic images, from the lovely (the statuesque 'Empress' with a soldier groveling at her feet), the interesting (the 'Magician,' where a smiling mechanically-inclined woman is attaching a phallus to her own custom giant sex machine), to the humorous ('Strength'-a woman holding onto a gargantuan erection for dear life; '2 of Earth'-a sexy blonde trying to seduce a comically startled, nerdy man). However, the preponderance of cards depicting decidedly un-erotic or downright disturbing imagery (creepy, leering men menacing helpless women in what appear to be rape scenes waiting to happen) bring an energy that may ultimately leave you cold. A novel collection item, to be sure, but not a deck that I would actually use for divination purposes.

Erotic art tarot is a sensual journey,

This review is from: Erotic Tarot of Manara (Cards)
The Erotic Tarot, illustrated by Milo Manara and published by Lo Scarabeo of Italy, uses vibrant artwork and a healthy serving of humor in a lusty and wide-ranging erotic journey. This deck features erotic play, exhibitionism, voyeurism, B&D, and some S&M. Each card is marvelously unique and boldly colored, in the suits of water, earth, fire, and air, and the accompanying booklet provides upright and astrological meanings. One of my favorite cards, the 4 of Air, shows a young, waifish nude woman in untied work boots, holding a yellow parasol, suspended as if on a swing on a curl of movie film, looking skyward into an early yellow morning. Collectors of erotic decks, or those who prefer a less explicit deck, may want to check out The Tarots of Casanova, illustrated by Luca Raimondo, also produced by Lo Scarabeo.

Just for fun,

These are beautiful, fun, cards. I bought them for my collection, but I do not read with them due to the inaccuracies (unless I am in a very whimsical mood).
My major complaint -> The cards all have naked women and hardly any naked men. I find this highly unfair :-). This redblooded female would like to see a deck with more ...(ummm, I am not going to finish that sentance).

manara erotic tarot,
By Miss Rose (Northern Cali) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Erotic Tarot of Manara (Cards)
It's pretty tame, and definitely geared to almost only renditions of the female body. I am a hetero-woman and would have preferred more (Quantity) erotic depictions of the male, sexually aroused. I'm going to sell it on ebay tho I notice there are a lot of the Manara decks listed on it already . . .

Not my cup of tea nor would I read its tea leaves,
This review is from: Erotic Tarot of Manara (Cards)
The pictures in this deck are well done. My favorite card is the 10 of water, with the woman in the lake. Very beautiful and ethereal. Other than a few cards, most of this deck is disturbing, with images of seeming rape, abuse and disrespect. Not what I want to read with, or even flip through. There are some very strange scenes, with sci fi creatures going after helpless women. Not attractive to me. No spirituality or love in the sex comes through on these cards. I ordered these to surprise my boyfriend and give him a reading, but changed my mind when I saw them, and he thought they were disturbing as well.

Milo Manara's girls are famous in every Countries. The pathos in Manara's art is great outside book too: imagine a set of amazing painted gals mixed with the magic of tarots... and you'll have the secret of this masterpiece. For the best art & comics collectors only.
