2.0 out of 5 stars Eh..., September 26, 2008
This review is from: An Errand for Emma (The Emma Trilogy, 1) (Paperback)
I did not exactly want to beat my head against a brick wall wilst reading this book, but it still left a lot to be desired. Another sample of LDS fiction that tries to be nothing more than a book involving LDS themes. It's especially sad when one considers that so much more could have been done with it.

Emma is your typical modern Mormon girl, struggling with faith and all the usual problems of contemporary LDS life but without any of realism and emotion. Through strange occurances she is transported back into the past where she finds a way to solve a geneaology mystery.

It's a cute enough story, and that plot isn't horrible, but the characters are so flat and the story so contrived that it's difficult to be half-way impressed.
