4.0 out of 5 stars consistent scale
I bought this bathroom scale because I love the Escali Kitchen Scale. This is a very consistent scale - as opposed to many digital scales that can give you 3 different weights in 3 tries.

To turn it on you have to tap it HARD - I mean really HARD.
It weighs about a pound less than other scales.

4.0 out of 5 stars Escali Scale worked well, February 2, 2009
This review is from: Escali B180SB Glass Platform Bathroom Scale, Black (Health and Beauty)
We were looking for a moderate priced scale that would weigh big people. We selected this one and have been very happy. Our only problem is that it takes a solid hit with the foot to activate it. We like the digital accuracy to the tenths of pounds. Delivery was prompt.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works for me!, September 24, 2010

Pretty much everyone has reviewed about how to turn it on... and they are right. I bought it anyway because I needed a higher capacity scale and I liked the look of it and it was in my price range. I did find a system that works to turn it on that doesn't include slamming your foot on the top or any other violence. I basically just lift it up an inch (or less) with my toes and let it drop back down. No loud SMACK, no pain in my heels.. and it has turned on every time. If you can deal with it's one excentricity, it's a great and accurate scale.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am in love., February 23, 2010

Without gushing too much, I have to say I LOVE THIS SCALE. I see some reviews where people have to brutalize their scale to get it to turn on, and I don't really know what to tell them except perhaps it's defective? Because this scale is one of the best things I have ever purchased. One little tap with my toe and it comes on, and let me tell you, this thing is ACCURATE! I went to my doctor and was weighed and my sister went to her doctor at a different office and was weighed and when we got home and weighed ourselves right away this scale gave us the same weight as our doctors' scales to within 1/10th of a pound!
And what some of the other reviews said about it being consistent is 100% true. Step on it one time, three times, or ten times and it will still give you the EXACT SAME READING. WOW!
Oops, I wasn't supposed to gush, but I can't help it. As someone who needs to lose weight, and I AM losing weight, I don't need the added frustration of a tempermental scale. Honestly, I thought it would cost something like a thousand dollars to get a scale that is so perfect, but this cost me just $30 and had free super saver shipping. It is flat-out the best $30 I have ever spent.

ps-just to let you know, I've owned this scale for a couple months now and it is still just as perfect as when it arrived.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great deal !, December 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This scale has the four things a scale should have 1. Accurate. 2.inexpensive 3. Stylish 4. Capasity ( up to 350 lbs ).
Some have had trouble with the kicking to turn it on, but not me. A slight tap turns it on.

This review is from: Escali B180SB Glass Platform Bathroom Scale, Black (Health and Beauty)
This scale is as good as expected from the other reviews, except - we did not realize there is no light with the display, either LED or back-light. Makes it a little hard to read without direct light on it. This is somewhat compensated for by the fact that the display stays on for a few seconds, so you can get off the scales and get a closer look at it. Otherwise we are entirely satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great and Stylish, February 6, 2010

I wanted a scale that not only works well, but looks good in my spa master bath. Since I have a lot of green glass tile accents throughout this scale coordinates perfectly with the rest of the decor in my newly remodeled spa master bath. Also works great and gives an accurate reading. Durable too!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased, January 25, 2012
I've had this scale for about 9 months now, and I'm delighted with it. I'm not having the problem others mention of having to whack it hard to turn it on -- I just stand on it and it registers. I've had other scales that register different weights within seconds, or that never zero themselves (the scale that never zeroed was a very expensive, well-reviewed, and highly-recommended piece of junk), and I've had none of those issues with this item.

It's consistent, sleek-looking, reasonably-priced, and pretty (I'm a sucker for pink!). Love it. Would give it a 5-star rating if the display were a little bigger and/or lit up, but that is a very minor quibble.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pedal to the Metal, June 21, 2011

Excellent scale, but everyone is correct...You have to practically slam the damn thing with your toe to get it to turn on.....If it were not for that fact I would give it a 5 out of 5.....
