Good Value, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Escali #PR100S Liberta Pocket Scale (Kitchen)
I needed a scale to weigh small amounts of ingredients, and this had much more accuracy than my larger Escali kitchen scale, yet was more reasonably priced than those which weighed to a 100th of a gram. This weighs to a 20th of a gram, which is fine enough for my purposes. The size is good and the cover heeps the scale clean. I was a little put off to realize that it was not Italian-made as the name implied, but was made in China. However my other Escali has given years of service and it was also made in China.

A great, compact, precise scale for the price!, January 12, 2008
This review is from: Escali #PR100S Liberta Pocket Scale (Kitchen)
This is an excellent scale for the price! It offers consistent readings, precision to .05g (while most similar scales only measure to the tenth of a gram), and compact size; the included case is very handy, and works as a tray of sorts. This is a slim, attractive unit, and the closing cover helps prevent accident damage or button pushing. The tare function, though basic, is very helpful, neglecting the weight of a container when measuring with one. My only gripe would be the relatively small scale surface, but this hardly is worth complaining about because any tray or container allows the extra volume/surface you need. I would recommend this scale to anyone who needs to weigh only in the 0-100g range, repeatable accuracy, portability, and easy to use functions.

Defective unit; replacement fine, May 20, 2009
This review is from: Escali #PR100S Liberta Pocket Scale (Kitchen)
Received scale from Amazon without apparent damage; removed battery insulator; followed directions. It acted flaky. With repeated attempts at calibration, it successfully performed the first several steps but always ended with "EEEE" error. Any attempts to weigh items resulted in an overload error, though nothing was on the scale. This unit was obviously defective in operation, though it appeared fine externally. I've requested a replacement from Amazon. Follow-up: Amazon's return process was quick and easy, and the replacement unit works fine. It seems accurate to a few hundredths of a gram, bouncing that final digit around, as you weigh, but that's plenty good enough for me.
