If your're like me you probably thought you heard the best of Cuba after Buena Vista Social Club graced your ears... think again. From this fertile land of musical talent comes Armando Garzon, a man who's music is evidently not suppressed by convention and who's musicianship and pure energy saturate the entire album. On this album Garzon looks to his Cuban roots for the heavy grooves and to Latin America for romantic themes. This is a vocalist's album yet Garzon often sits in the background and lets his band whip up a frenzy of music, the way only Cubans know how. This is Buena Vista times ten!
