It must have been difficult to write these events and tell of the atrocities that have gone on in this country. The six o'clock news only told a small portion of the slaughter that really went on. What can we do to ever prevent this from happening again? The book really provokes emotion.

Not many people can understand the concept of having your home bombed, your father killed and not having contact with your family, not knowing if they 'made it out safely' or not. Mr. Berisha shares a very personal story about the difficulties his family and others faced while 800,000 people were forced from their homes during Serbian attack on their country. This book was written 10 years ago, yet this experience is still shaping who Mr. Berisha is today. After the 2008 declaration of Kosova's independence, James began flying to Central and South American countries to raise awareness of and encourage them to officially recognize the country's recent independent status. 'Flying for Kosovo' is yet another way in which Mr. Berisha is trying to give voice to the many people in his country who have endured an experience that most of us could not possibly understand, while at the same time sharing the beauty and history of his country with those of us who have only read about it 'in the news'.

What a fantastic story from the inside view and the outside view. It is a bit graffic at times but what is to read when it really happened.
I would advise any adult to read this.
I have been to the areas in which he tells the story. So great! A MUST READ!
