A Detailed, First-Person View of the Museum
The story behind Escape the Museum began innocently enough when Susan Anderson brought her daughter to work at the National Museum of History to share in an exciting, educational day. But just after closing time, an earthquake caused destruction on a massive scale. After making sure that Caitlin was safe, Susan returns to the museum to make sure no one else had been trapped and left behind, but her heroic intentions are compromised when falling debris knocks her unconscious.

When she wakes up--alone and in the midst of all the ruined displays--she can barely move. This is where you come in, standing in her shoes, with a first-person view of the vast museum and all the gritty, dusty destruction caused by the earthquake. Can you outsmart the security system that has come on? Save art and artifacts from the dusty, unstable displays? Find a way to reach your daughter for a happy reunion?

Sensitive Wii Controls for Navigating a Puzzling Journey
With 25 distinct adventure scenes and 12 different hunt-and-find areas to search through, there's plenty of territory to explore in this museum. And your Wii remote offers the control you need to solve a variety of puzzles, find and salvage priceless artifacts, and uncover exits that have been hidden in the chaos. Skillful players will even discover ways to access hints that help them on their adventurous journey.

When it comes time to gauge where you stand, a detailed map screen lets you check what percentage of the game you have completed and gauge your progress. You can also quickly view your accuracy as a percentage, the value of the artifacts you have saved, and the amount of time that has elapsed. All these stats add to the fun when you want to compete against your personal best or the personal bests of your friends and family.

Challenging Mini-Games
In addition to the main adventure narrative, this hidden object game includes two mini-games that add to the challenge of your missions. One requires you to locate pieces of valuable paintings and reassemble them as a puzzle. The other asks you to try and match an artifact's weight. Successful matching allows you to save the artifact in question and continue on to other rooms.

3.0 out of 5 stars I loved it once I figured out how to zoom the screen, July 8, 2009
By
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Escape The Museum (Video Game)
I was frustrated like some of the other reviewers concerning size of images until I realized that you hold the trigger and push and pull with your arms to enlarge and shrink the scene. This is a miniscule blurb in the instructions that is VERY easy to miss. If you don't enlarge the screen, forget it you can't find squat.

Once I got my zoom down, I next worked on the getting rid of the narrative. (its poor, over-acted and annoying) Besides, you don't need it, the subtitles tell you what to do and you can hit your 'A' button to move through them faster.

Here's why I have so much fun with this game. It is addictive and a rather decent seek and find game, I just do a few things:
- turn the t.v. sound to zero (0)
- turn on my amp, find my favorite digital radio channel
- put on my favorite music and pump it through the room
- pour myself a tall one
- sit back and seek -n- find....

4.0 out of 5 stars You have to ZOOM on the screen to find the objects!!, March 4, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Escape The Museum (Video Game)
Remember everyone: ZOOM THE SCREEN! You can't see anything otherwise. There is just no way anyone would say that they couldn't find squat, unless they didn't know to zoom the screen. This is how hidden object games work on the Wii and DS. You zoom in and then scroll around. In this game, as soon as you get into a room, you will see an establishng shot of the room. Then you press the trigger (B) on the wiimote and pull towards you, and this zooms in on the room. You then scroll up, down, left, and right on the screen, allowing you to look at different enlarged segments of the room, one at a time. The items are definitely visible enough to find, but not so easy that it's not a challenge. Sure it's not as good as the PC version, and the DS version is better because it's portable, has dual screens, and the controls are easier. But it's still a pretty good Wii game that fans of hidden object and puzzle game fans will enjoy---as long as you ZOOM! Sorry if I sound like a broken record, but there's a lot of very negative reviews. The people who say they couldn't find a single object has to be unaware of the zoom feature, or are suffering from some kind of eye trauma.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a Bad game - 9 year old daughter loves it, April 26, 2009
This review is from: Escape The Museum (Video Game)
My daughter loves Dinosaurs and anything to do with them. She also thinks she wants to be an archeologist. The game I agree is a little hard to find the hidden objects, but that doesn't seem to bother her. I find it more frustrating that she does.

This game is more for the slower moving group. She hates being timed on anything it makes her very anxious. This game is nice because she can work at her own pace and doesn't necessarily compete with anything.

I've never played it on the PC, but I hate loading games on my PC so we ordered this. we actually got it through Scholastic in January 09, and have played a lot of hours on it.
