4.0 out of 5 stars You have to ZOOM on the screen to find the objects!!
Remember everyone: ZOOM THE SCREEN! You can't see anything otherwise. There is just no way anyone would say that they couldn't find squat, unless they didn't know to zoom the screen. This is how hidden object games work on the Wii and DS. You zoom in and then scroll around. In this game, as soon as you get into a room, you will see an establishng shot of the room...

3.0 out of 5 stars I loved it once I figured out how to zoom the screen
I was frustrated like some of the other reviewers concerning size of images until I realized that you hold the trigger and push and pull with your arms to enlarge and shrink the scene. This is a miniscule blurb in the instructions that is VERY easy to miss. If you don't enlarge the screen, forget it you can't find squat.

Once I got my zoom down, I next worked on the getting rid of the narrative. (its poor, over-acted and annoying) Besides, you don't need it, the subtitles tell you what to do and you can hit your 'A' button to move through them faster.

Here's why I have so much fun with this game. It is addictive and a rather decent seek and find game, I just do a few things:
- turn the t.v. sound to zero (0)
- turn on my amp, find my favorite digital radio channel
- put on my favorite music and pump it through the room
- pour myself a tall one
- sit back and seek -n- find....

4.0 out of 5 stars You have to ZOOM on the screen to find the objects!!, March 4, 2010

Remember everyone: ZOOM THE SCREEN! You can't see anything otherwise. There is just no way anyone would say that they couldn't find squat, unless they didn't know to zoom the screen. This is how hidden object games work on the Wii and DS. You zoom in and then scroll around. In this game, as soon as you get into a room, you will see an establishng shot of the room. Then you press the trigger (B) on the wiimote and pull towards you, and this zooms in on the room. You then scroll up, down, left, and right on the screen, allowing you to look at different enlarged segments of the room, one at a time. The items are definitely visible enough to find, but not so easy that it's not a challenge. Sure it's not as good as the PC version, and the DS version is better because it's portable, has dual screens, and the controls are easier. But it's still a pretty good Wii game that fans of hidden object and puzzle game fans will enjoy---as long as you ZOOM! Sorry if I sound like a broken record, but there's a lot of very negative reviews. The people who say they couldn't find a single object has to be unaware of the zoom feature, or are suffering from some kind of eye trauma.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a Bad game - 9 year old daughter loves it, April 26, 2009
This review is from: Escape The Museum (Video Game)
My daughter loves Dinosaurs and anything to do with them. She also thinks she wants to be an archeologist. The game I agree is a little hard to find the hidden objects, but that doesn't seem to bother her. I find it more frustrating that she does.

This game is more for the slower moving group. She hates being timed on anything it makes her very anxious. This game is nice because she can work at her own pace and doesn't necessarily compete with anything.

I've never played it on the PC, but I hate loading games on my PC so we ordered this. we actually got it through Scholastic in January 09, and have played a lot of hours on it.

This is a computer game, made into a Wii game. Very hard to see images on the tv screen, just not as much fun as I thought it would be. I would recommend play on the PC vs the Wii. If you like hidden object games, buy Ultimate I Spy.

This is one of the worst games I've played on the Wii. I am a big fan of HOG (Hidden Object Games) on the PC and thought it would be fun on the Wii. WRONG. Very hard to navigate around the screen and the items are very hard to find. Not fun at all. Save your money on this one.

The pictures make the game look better than it really is. The graphics suck, if you zoom in, the pictures are blurry. If you want clear, you have to zoom out, but you can't see anything. I love hidden object games, I was so looking forward to this one and was so disappointed. When you solve a room, this poorly drawn cartoon character comes on the screen, makes it feel like it is for a 7 year old.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun game, but slightly confusing/annoying., June 8, 2011

This game as a whole is a lot of fun, if you like puzzle and hidden object games. It's entertaining and moves along at a fairly good pace. However, there are a few things that are confusing or annoying.

- It takes a little bit to understand the zoom in/zoom out feature. The instruction booklet says to hold B and push toward the TV to zoom in, and hold B and pull out to zoom out. I found it's actually the reverse when I was playing, and you have to be quite close to the sensor bar in order to get it to work.

- The game dialogue is both too long and completely unnecessary. The game goes way too far into the story. Luckily, you can skip through it.

- The seek and find screens are much better adapted for a PC than a TV. Even with the zoom feature, it's sometimes difficult to see details in the screen.

Overall, once you master the zoom, and skip past the dialogue, it's a good game with lots of fun puzzles.

It is slow and hard to locate the items you need and children can not do it unless they are a teenager. We bought this item as a family type game to play with our grandchildren, our 13 year old grandson at times gets upset at the game and won't finish it because the hint tells you where the item is and then when you go there it doesn't give you the item, so at this time I would not recommend this game.Sorry :(

4.0 out of 5 stars Finding the ZOOM Makes The Game More Fun!, August 23, 2010

My husband and I just purchased the Wii, and this was one of the first games we decided on buying. Actually, I made the decision for this game, he choose Super Mario Brothers.

I prefer games that require thought and puzzling through situations. I am not the type of person who has ever liked games that involved action at lightening speed, or that involved mindless violence. This game appealed to me because it is trying to find hidden objects. It also does entail finding objects and then manipulating them to achieve a certain outcome - not often enough, in my opinion, but it's certainly there! One of the things I really enjoyed was the game takes you back to certain rooms to look for other objects, and it becomes a challenge to see if you can remember where you saw it from the last time you were in that room. If you like mental challenges, you might like this.

However, you will not get anywhere with this game if you do not master the zoom feature! After first entering a "room," it is imperative to press the "B" button, and pull the remote towards you. This zooms into the room, where you will be able to see all the objects in the room more clearly and pick out what you are trying to locate. It's still a challenge, but not impossible!

One thing that truly annoyed me with this game was the lame dialog/storyline. Supposedly, an earthquake has struck Washington, DC and you must make your way out of the National Museum. Streets are closed, emergency personnel are scrambling, chaos is in the streets. Fine. But in several rooms you are cautioned that doing something the wrong way will set off an alarm. Say what? Who cares if a lone alarm in the museum is going off? I just found this type of thing annoying, and that's why I gave the game an overall score of 4 stars.

My husband and I enjoyed this game. I didn't think it would appeal to him, but he really did enjoy it! This game would probably bore the person who likes their games to be quick moving and on the violent side. However, for those of us who prefer games that get the brain cells moving, this might be something worth looking into.

This game is very challenging and fun. It keeps you searching for clues and the proper order of the clues to meet the criteria to open the room. My 12 year old grandson plays it and likes the challenge.
