The first time I read Chad Daybell's Errand for Emma, I thought someday I could look back and be able to say I knew Chad before his books become famous. Chad is one of those LDS writers whose books will be familiar to everyone one of these days. He just keeps getting better. In this new volume, Escape to Zion, the third volume in the Emma trilogy, Emma Dalton ventures into the future. We see Temple Square surrounded by an electric fence as chariots race through abandoned Salt Lake City streets. One of the Three Nephites lends a helping hand, and we get a glimpse of the big meeting at Adam-Ondi-Ahman at the ushering in of the new Millenium. Wow! The third of the trilogy, Chad Daybell ends his series on a high note. This was the most captivating of the three books with many unexpected twists and turns. The fictional account weaves LDS theology with interesting (and sometimes harrowing) depictions of future events. It will leave you wanting to know more about the future as seen by latter-day prophets. A great read for adolescents or for someone who wants to understand the LDS perspective on the Rapture.
