This story had a beautiful setting and I was very caught up in the details and descriptions of the island paradise. Unfortunately, the lead female character was a complete shrew and was extremely difficult to like. She had quite a princess complex and really thought everything was all about her. Once or twice she described herself as acting like a bitch and she certainly was that. I think I would have been much more caught up in the story if the characters had been a bit more likable.

I enjoyed this little romance that had fun, likeable characters and a fun get-a-way spot. The relationship happened a very quick as is common with vacation romances, but this one seemed to hint at the characters thinking it could last long term.

Lucy was overwhelmed with the tragedy and perpetual lowlife cycle that came through the ER and needed an immediate break. She left her long time, yet boring live-in boyfriend, Max at home and went in search of adventure. Arriving on the island, Lucy meets Rudy, her diving instructor and is immediately attracted to him. She has been questioning her relationship, not only with Max, but with the big city hospital. While relaxing, Lucy goes through a romantic luncheon, a jealous bar-b-q, a sexy storm, an unexpected arrival and a complete misunderstanding making this an entertaining read from start to finish.

This was a quick fantasy romance that was fun to read and I would read more from this author in the future.

Lovely piece of literary escapism. Great scene setting - I have been to Ko Tao diving and the book captured not only the diving scene of the island but also the sights, sounds and smells of a Thai paradise. Made me long for Pad Thai, a bottle of Singha beer and cornflour white fine sand between my toes! Lucy and Rudy were likable as the conflicted heroine and hero. Both a change of pace and genres for Ms Elliott - from horror to erotica to contemporary romance - she is showcasing her versatility and talent as an author.

I enjoyed this story a lot. A UK ER doctor is overwhelmed with what she sees every day and takes off for an island off Thailand. She's in a rut. She and her boyfriend are co-existing and she wants a change. She gets it! I was glad to see the heroine be insecure and vulnerable for a change. It will be put into my 'all time favorites' collection.

If you are going on holiday this is a great read and even if you are not it still is, however, it will make you want to go to Thailand. Basically this book is a romance but the descriptions are so vivid that you actually feel that you are in Thailand. The author seems to draw the characters so finely that you can see them in your mind's eye. A great read. Highly recommended.

This was a nice afternoon read. I felt like I was there watching it all happen without it being over descriptive. Maybe author will give us some follow up on the island?
