The Escort SmartCord for Passport 7500 and 6800 models features a power-on indicator, an alert lamp that warns you of radar and laser, and a convenient mute button on the lighter plug. It's the perfect addition for any car when reaching the detector's mute button on the windshield is a stretch. At night, put the detector in dark mode and use the SmartCord for alerts. Other drivers won't know you have a detector. SmartCords are compatible only with the Passport 7500 and 6800 detectors.

If you own an Escort with the mute button on the detector, you should buy one of these adapters now! You can avoid constantly reaching up to mute - and occasionally knocking the detector off the window/visor when pressing the mute botton. Sounds silly but it happens and it's not just a nuisance - it's difficult/dangerous to put it back in place while driving.

I had been using a brand x power cord for the last two years and false laser alerts were becoming more and more common - to the point that I nearly couldn't use it. Read on line that it could be a poor connection with power source. Decided to try it. Shamalama ding dong, it solved the problem!
